Február utolsó hetében több népszerű közösségi oldalon terjedni kezdett egy videó, amelyen egy ló bántalmazása látható. Kiderült, hogy a felvétel a Beregszászi kistérséghez tartozó Gát községben készült, ahol egy helyi lakos a videót rögzítő személy biztatására, a társaság szórakoztatására – egy állítólagos fogadásra hivatkozva – brutálisan ütlegelte az állatot. A felvételeken az is megfigyelhető, hogy a ló már a videó készítésekor is rossz állapotban volt.
Az eset kapcsán gyors és hatékony intézkedést hajtott végre a Beregszászi kistérség vezetősége, a képviselői testület néhány tagjával közösen. Február 25-én a délelőtti órákban a videón szereplő állatkínzó személyt a Beregszászi Járási Rendőrkapitányság munkatársai előállították, majd a beregszászi rendőrségre szállították. Az esetet jegyzőkönyvezték.
Ezt követően Gáton a rendőrkapitányság munkatársai egy nyomozó, a községi elöljáró, valamint egy állatorvos jelenlétében megvizsgálták a traumatizált állatot. A vizsgálat után a lovat elszállították, a Tiszacsomai Árpád Vezér Látogatóközpont és Lovarda ideiglenesen befogadta, ahol megfelelő rehabilitációt és életkörülményeket tudnak biztosítani az állatnak. A mentőcsapat a kimenekített állatot Mázlinak nevezte el.

Augusztus 2-án darázscsípés következtében meghalt egy 36 éves férfi Benében.
Szerdán délután a férfi segített egy ismerősének barackot szedni a kertben. Az édes gyümölcs körül nyüzsgő darazsak közül néhány megcsípte a nyakát és a fejét. Pár másodperc múlva anafilaxiás sokk és duzzanat következett be nála. Az áldozatot azonnal a közelben lévő családi ambulanciára szállították. Ekkor már nem kapott levegőt, leállt a szíve.
„Az orvos azonnal megkezdte az újraélesztést, gyógyszereket adott be, sürgősségi segítséget kért. A 600-as számú csapat perceken belül a helyszínen volt, és folytatták az újraélesztést” – írja a mentőszolgálat 103 Zakarpattya Facebook-oldalán.
Sajnos a 36 éves férfi életét nem sikerült megmenteni. Amint azt Hanna Baszarab mentőorvos megjegyezte, ilyenkor nem perceken, hanem másodperceken múlik az élet. Olyan tünetek esetén, mint a légzési problémák, az ajkak, az arc, a szemhéjak vagy a torok duzzanata, szédülés, ájulás, gyenge vagy szapora pulzus, kiütés, hányinger, hányás vagy hasmenés, azonnal mentőt kell hívni és el kell kezdeni az újraélesztést.

A beregszászi járási rendőrség munkatársai elfogták a férfit, aki betört egy boltba a kistérség területén, megpróbálta kivinni onnan az árucikkeket és bántalmazta a tulajdonosokat.
Az eset Gáton történt, augusztus 16-án a reggeli órákban. A tettes számos árucikket, elektromos fűrészt és szemüveget próbált meg kivinni az üzletből, azonban a tulaj és bátyja észrevették. A bűnöző ebben a pillanatban egyiküket arcon ütötte, majd pedig eldobta a fűrészt a másik irányába.
Az áldozatok a tolvaj elmenekülése után azonnal értesítették a rendőrséget, akik rövid időn belül a nyomára bukkantak. Mint kiderült, a férfi egy 31 éves minaji lakos, tettének okát nem tudta megmagyarázni.
Az ügyben büntetőeljárás indult, a nyomozás megkezdődött.
