Derékig érő vízben tolják az autókat egy aluljáróban a szicíliai Palermóban. Szerdán délután „leszakadt” az ég. Az autósokat az úton érte az ítéletidő, egyszerűen nem tudtak hova menekülni. Hogy nem történt tragédia, csak az időben hozott jó döntésüknek köszönhető.
„Minden nagyon gyorsan történt. A víz már elkezdett szivárogni az autóba, amikor véletlenül ráhajtottam a védőkorlátra, amit nem is vettem észre, mert már az is víz alatt volt. A többi autó elindult, én viszont mozdulni sem tudtam. Ekkor döntöttem úgy a szüleimmel, hogy kimászunk az autóból” – mesélte kalandos történetét egy sofőr.
Az ár levonulása után az úton korlátra akadt, egymásra torlódott, sárral telt autókat lehetett látni. Néhány még mindig tengelyig vízben áll. Pedig a tűzoltók egész délután, és éjszaka is dolgoztak azon, hogy kiszivattyúzzák a vizet, miközben egy másik csapat csónakon kereste a két, állítólag eltűnt embert.
