Tajvan április 28-án haditengerészeti és légierőket küldött megfigyelésre, miután két kínai hadihajót észleltek a Tajvani-szorosban, a Penghu-szigetek közelében, jelentette a Reuters.
A tajvani védelmi minisztérium hétfő este közölte, hogy egy kínai romboló és fregatt lépett be a Penghu-szigetektől délnyugatra fekvő vizekre, ahol a tajvani haditengerészet és légibázisok találhatók.
„A tajvani hadsereg szorosan figyelemmel kísérte az alakulatot, és ennek megfelelően reagált, haditengerészeti és légi erőket bevetve” – közölte a hírügynökség.
A kínai tevékenységről szóló tajvani jelentés adatai szerint április 28-án reggel kilenc kínai hadihajót és 22 katonai repülőgépet észleltek a vizeken.
Ugyanakkor a hírügynökség megjegyzi, hogy Kína szinte naponta küld hadihajókat és repülőgépeket a sziget körüli vizekre és a légtérbe, ami a tajvani kormány elítélését váltotta ki.
Peking Tajvan területét a sajátjának tekinti. Tajpej viszont elutasítja a kínai szuverenitási fenntartásait.

Észak-Korea tovább folytatja fegyverkezési programját: legutóbb egy 5000 tonnás hadihajót mutattak be, amelynek leleplezésén Kim Dzsong Un személyesen is jelen volt – számolt be a Liner.hu.
Kim Dzsong Un tiszteletére készült el az a 5000 tonnás hadihajó, ami újabb példa arra, hogy Észak-Korea folytatja a felgyorsított fegyverkezését. Egy modern rombolót bocsátottak vízre, amit az észak-koreai vezető a helyszínről követett figyelemmel.
A KCNA tájékoztatása szerint az 5000 tonnás hadihajót a legerősebb fegyverekkel látták el, és mintegy 400 nap alatt építették meg. Hangsúlyozták, saját erőből és technológiájuk segítségével abszolválták a terveket, amire különösen büszkék.
Kim is megszólalt az eseményen, és azt mondta, a hadihajót átadják a haditengerészetüknek, és a következő év elején szolgálatba is állítják. A Reuters a hónap elején egy műholdkép elemzésére hivatkozva arról számolt be, hogy Észak-Korea új hadihajóosztálya több olyan rakéta hordozására is képes, amit a hadsereg fejlesztett ki.
Észak-Korea vezetője szerint ezzel a hadosztállyal tovább nőtt hadseregük ereje, és egyre nagyobb elrettentő erőt képviselnek. Az észak-koreai vezető ezzel együtt hangsúlyozta, nem tetszik neki, hogy az USA stratégiai eszközöket telepít a Koreai-félszigetre. Nemrég például ismét B-1B bombázók jelentek meg a Dél-Koreával közösen tartott hadgyakorlat ideje alatt.
Észak-Korea régóta elítéli ezeket a hadgyakorlatokat, amiket háborús próbának minősít. Ezzel szemben Szöul szerint ezek a gyakorlatok pusztán védelmi jellegűek.
