Spanyolországban 1060 ember veszíthette életét júliusban a hőhullámok következtében, ami 57 százalékos növekedést jelent a múlt év azonos időszakához képest – közölte szerdán a spanyol egészségügyi minisztérium az X-en.
A III. Károly közegészségügyi kutatóintézet által működtetett elhalálozási monitoringrendszer várható halálozást is számol egyebek között a meteorológiai szolgálat hőmérsékleti adatai alapján.
Ugyan a rendszer nem tud abszolút oksági összefüggést megállapítani a regisztrált halálesetek és az időjárási viszonyok között, de ezen mérési adatok nyújtják a legjobb alapot annak megbecsüléséhez, hogy hány ember halálában játszhattak meghatározó szerepet az országot sújtó nyári hőhullámok.
Az intézet becslése szerint tavaly júliusban 674, augusztusban pedig 1271 ember halálát idézhette elő a szélsőségesen meleg időjárás. Idén május 16. és július 13. között 1180 haláleset köthető a hőhullámokhoz, ami drámai növekedést jelent 2024 azonos időszakához képest, amikor a halálos áldozatok száma 70 volt – emelte ki közleményében a minisztérium.
A meteorológiai szolgálat közlése szerint minden idők legforróbb júniusát regisztrálták idén Spanyolországban, az átlaghőmérséklet 23,6 Celsius-fok volt, 0,8 Celsius-fokkal több, mint az eddigi, 2017-es júniusi rekord. Előrejelzésük szerint a Spanyolországot és Portugáliát vasárnap óta sújtó második nagy nyári hőhullám a hét végéig biztosan eltart.

Hangsúlyozta: az efféle tűzgyújtás törvényellenes, és magánszemélyek számára akár 50 ezer dináros (kb. 427 euró), jogi személyek számára pedig akár 1 millió dináros (több mint 8500 euró) pénzbírsággal is járhat.
Július folyamán eddig összesen 3800 tűzeset történt Szerbiában. A legsúlyosabb nap július 7. volt, amikor egyetlen nap alatt 628 tüzet kellett eloltani.
Napjainkban minden ötödik gyermek kénytelen kétszer annyi rendkívül forró napot elviselni, mint 60 évvel ezelőtt – derül ki az UNICEF által közzétett jelentésből.
A szervezet szakértői emlékeztettek arra, hogy 2023 volt minden idők legmelegebb éve, és idén ez a rekord is megdőlhet.

Ezenkívül éjszaka lekapcsoltak egy nagyfeszültségű alállomást, ami az Ukrajna és Moldova energiarendszerét összekötő felsővezeték áramszünetéhez vezetett. „A hőség miatt tűz ütött ki az alállomás területén, amelyet eloltottak” – tette hozzá az Energetikai Minisztérium.

At least 10 people have died and 11 others were injured after a massive fire broke out at the multi-storey Lemon Green Restaurant in the Hauz Rani area of New Delhi on Wednesday morning.
