Egy illegális bevándorló hétfő este a boszniai Nevesinj közelében tüzet nyitott rendőrökre és helyiekre, majd két kézigránátot is a rendőrök felé dobott. A férfit végül a rendőrség lelőtte – számolt be róla a boszniai szerb közszolgálati televízió (RTRS) internetes oldala.
A helyi rendőrség beszámolója szerint a támadó egy férfitól néhány nappal ezelőtt birkát lopott, hétfőn pedig visszatért, hogy ismét lopjon, majd rátámadt a férfira. A helyi gazda értesítette a rendőrséget, a férfi pedig egy közeli elhagyatott házba menekült. Tűzpárbaj alakult ki a rendőrök és a migráns között, a bevándorló automata lőfegyverből lőtt rá a rendőrökre, majd két kézigránátot is feléjük hajított. A rendőrök nem sérültek meg, és néhány órával később, nem sokkal éjfél előtt lelőtték a támadót.
A migrációs válság tetőpontján, 2015-ben körülbelül egymillió illegális bevándorló haladt át az úgynevezett nyugat-balkáni útvonalon. Hivatalos adatok szerint az illegális bevándorlás legnépszerűbb útvonala még mindig a nyugat-balkáni szárazföldi út, ám a magyar és a horvát határ megerősítése miatt a migránsok gyakran Bosznia-Hercegovinán keresztül igyekeznek bejutni az Európai Unióba.

Legkevesebb 78-an megfulladtak, miután hajójuk felborult és elsüllyedt Görögország délnyugati partjainál szerdán – közölte a parti őrség. Korábban 17 halottról számoltak be a hatóságok.
A hajó fedélzetén több száz illegális bevándorló utazott a görög bevándorlási hivatal egyik illetékese szerint.

22 személy ellen emelt vádat a cseh rendőrség, akik a vádak szerint Magyarországon, Szlovákián és Csehországon keresztül szállítottak illegális bevándorlókat Németországba, illetve más uniós országokba. A rendőrség összesen 6 személyt vett őrizetbe. Valamennyi gyanúsított kettőtől nyolc évig terjedő szabadságvesztésre számíthat.
A cseh rendőrség szervezett bűnözés elleni nemzeti központjának (NCOZ) nyomozói szerint egy nemzetközi szervezett csoportról van szó, amely körülbelül 2021 októbere óta szervezte a – főként Szíriából érkező – migránsok szállítását.
„Az illegális bevándorlók szállításához személyszállító gépjárműveket, kisbuszokat és kisteherautókat használtak” – áll a rendőrség közleményében. A hatóság szerint a csoport hozzávetőleg nyolcmillió cseh koronához (több mint 340 ezer euróhoz) jutott hozzá tevékenységével.
Az ASIX fedőnevű beavatkozás során a nyomozók több házkutatást tartottak, ezalatt pedig több autót, különböző értékeket és több százezer korona készpénzt foglaltak le.
A cseh rendőrség a szlovákiai illegális migráció elleni küzdelemért felelős nemzeti egységgel, valamint Németország és Magyarország rendőreivel dolgozott együtt.

Uniós adatok szerint 2023 első három hónapjában háromszor annyian próbálkoztak az Európai Unióba jutni, mint egy évvel korábban. Ugyanakkor ezt az időszakot az ENSZ migrációs szerve 2017 óta a legtöbb halálos áldozatot követelő negyedévként jellemezte.

A görög hatóságok felszámoltak egy kiterjedt embercsempészbandát, amelynek tagjai az utóbbi hónapokban több mint 2200 illegális bevándorlónak segítettek átjutni Görögországból Nyugat-Európába – közölte a görög rendőrség pénteken.
Eddig 36 gyanúsítottat vettek őrizetbe, és az elrendelt házkutatások során – Athénban, Szaloniki kikötővárosában és a Peloponnészosz-félszigeten – több mint 8000 hamis útlevelet és személyi igazolványt foglaltak le.
A nemzetközi embercsempészbandák elsősorban Törökországból és a Közel-Keletről szállítanak migránsokat Görögországon át, hogy több ezer euróért cserébe feketén, hamis okmányokkal Nyugat-Európába juttassák őket.
Rendőrségi források szerint a hamis iratok minőségüktől függően egyenként akár ötezer euróba is kerülhettek.

Egy vietnami olajipari szolgáltató hajó 154 embert mentett ki egy süllyedő hajóról az Andamán-tengeren, majd átadta őket a mianmari haditengerészetnek – közölte az állami média.
Aktivisták megerősítették, hogy a csoport a kisebbségi rohingja muzulmánokból állt.
A Hai Duong 29 nevű hajó Szingapúrból tartott Mianmar felé, amikor szerdán a mianmari partoktól mintegy 460 kilométerre délre észrevette a bajba jutott hajót – közölte a VTC News helyi hírügynökség csütörtökön késő este.

A beszámoló szerint a hajó motorja nem működött, és víz szivárgott a hajótestbe – áll a VTC News jelentésében. Hozzátették, hogy a hajó egy órával azután süllyedt el, hogy a fedélzeten lévőket kimentették. A 154 kimentett ember közül 40 nő és 31 gyerek volt. Őket csütörtökön átadták a mianmari haditengerészetnek – áll a jelentésben. Nem volt azonban világos, hogy mi történik velük ezután.
A rohingják évek óta üldözött kisebbségnek számítanak Mianmarban, és sokan életüket kockáztatják, amikor rozoga vízi járműveken megpróbálnak eljutni a túlnyomórészt muzulmánok lakta Malajziába és Indonéziába.
Elvándorlásuk folytatódik Mianmarból és a szomszédos Bangladesben lévő menekülttáborokból. Ez a helyzet felerősödött a mianmari hadsereg 2017-es erőszakos fellépését követően. A délkelet-ázsiai országot jelenleg a hadsereg irányítja, amely 2021-ben államcsínnyel került a hatalomba.
Az ENSZ menekültügyi szervezete (UNHCR) a múlt héten azt mondta, hogy idén „drámaian megnőtt” azoknak az embereknek a száma, akik megpróbáltak átkelni az Andamán-tengeren Mianmar és Banglades között.
Idén eddig legalább 1900-an keltek át, hatszor annyian, mint 2020-ban, és idén legalább 119-en haltak meg a menekülni próbálók közül.
