Több mint 100 rakétaindító és tüzérségi pozíciót bombázott le az izraeli légierő Libanonban, a célpontok a Hezbollah iszlamista szervezethez köthetők – írja a Times of Israel.
A támadás az izraeli légierő eddigi egyik legintenzívebb csapása volt, a küldetés során az izraeli haderő összesen körülbelül 1000 indítócső megsemmisítését jelentette.
Jeruzsálem emellett lőszerraktárak és parancsnoki állások támadását is végrehajtotta.
A csapás után az izraeli hadsereg elrendelte több észak-izraeli település lakosságának, hogy vonuljanak óvóhely közelébe, felkészülve a Hezbollah válaszcsapására.
Erős a gyanú, hogy Izrael bármikor szárazföldi inváziót kezdhet Libanon ellen, a most végrehajtott támadás, illetve a Hezbollah egy részét megbénító, csipogós szabotázsakció erősen úgy fest, mint egy katonai invázió előkészülete.

Az izraeli légierő precíziós csapással megölte a Hamász palesztin iszlamista terrorszervezet egyik magas rangú fegyverszakértőjét a Gázai övezetben – számolt be az izraeli hadsereg (IDF) sajtószolgálata.
A szombati közlemény szerint Taha Abu Nada, a Hamász terrorszervezet számára fegyverek, katonai felszerelések és fegyverek előállításához használt kiegészítő felszerelések gyártásáért volt felelős.
A likvidált radikális felelt azoknak a fegyvereknek az előállításáért, amelyeket a Hamász izraeli területek és a Gázai övezetben tevékenykedő izraeli csapatok ágyúzására használt – jegyezte meg az IDF.
Izrael július 31-én Teheránban likvidálta a Hamász emigrációban élő politikai vezetőjét, Iszmáíl Hánijehet. Irán válaszcsapással fenyegette meg a tettet el nem ismerő Izraelt, azonban erre mindeddig nem került sor.
A Reuters beszámolója szerint szombaton Hamász-delegáció érkezik Egyiptom fővárosába, Kairóba, hogy a gázai fegyverszünetről tárgyaljanak.
