Tüzérségi támadást indítottak Irán-barát milíciák egy amerikai katonai támaszpont ellen a kelet-szíriai Deir ez-Zórban hétfő este – közölte az Emberi Jogok Szíriai Megfigyelőközpontja (OSDH) nevű civilszervezet.
Az al-Omar olajmezőn található bázist több találat érte, de csak anyagi károk keletkeztek – tette hozzá a megfigyelőközpont.
Helyi források szerint négy rakétát lőttek ki olyan területről, amely a szíriai kormány felügyelete alatt áll. Az Irán-barát síita milíciák a damaszkuszi kormány szövetségesei.
Szintén az OSDH értesülése szerint a Washington vezette terrorellenes nemzetközi koalíció válaszul tűz alá vette al-Majadín várost, amelyet az Irán-barát milíciák tartanak ellenőrzésük alatt.
A Szana szíriai állami hírügynökség megerősítette ezt.
Wayne Marotto amerikai katonai szóvivő elmondta, hogy az amerikai csapatokat rakétatámadás érte, de az első értesüléseik szerint senki sem sebesült meg. Marotto nem közölte, melyik csoport állhat a támadás mögött.
Az Egyesült Államok több légicsapást hajtott végre a hétvégén a Teherán által támogatott milíciák ellen Irakban és Szíriában, megtorlásul azért, hogy a félkatonai szervezetek robbanóanyaggal felszerelt drónokkal és rakétákkal támadtak amerikai katonákat és létesítményeket Irakban.
A légitámadásokat Joe Biden amerikai elnök utasítására hajtották végre. Biden, aki öt hónapja lépett hivatalba, immár másodszor rendelt el légitámadásokat Irán-barát milíciák ellen. Az első csapássorozatot februárban hajtották végre szintén támadások megtorlásául.
Az amerikai védelmi minisztérium hangsúlyozta: az elnök eltökélt abban, hogy megvédi az amerikai katonákat. A Pentagon közölte: két milícia ellen intéztek most támadást, a Kataib Hezbollah és a Kataib Szajjid as-Suhada ellen.
Iraki források szerint az utóbbi csoport négy harcosa életét vesztette a légicsapásban. A milíciák bosszút esküdtek.
Irak és Szia önkényesnek nevezte és elítélte az amerikai támadásokat.

Fegyveresek támadtak meg egy egyiptomi katonai ellenőrzőpontot a Sínai-félsziget északi részén. A támadásban 18 terroristát megöltek, és meghalt két katona is.
A hadsereg tájékoztatása szerint a támadókat egy farmra és néhány lakatlan épületbe sikerült beszorítani, ahol tűzharcban végeztek velük. Közbena katonák több, bombával felszerelt autót is megsemmisítettek. Az egyik támadón robbanómellény volt, ezért a hadsereg azt állítja, hogy terrortámadást hiúsított meg.
A Sínai-félszigeten az egyiptomi katonákat rendszeresen érik támadások az Iszlám Állam nevű terrorszervezettel szövetséges szélsőségesek részéről.

Kedden Kaliforniában az amerikai tengerészgyalogság egyik támaszpontján lövöldözés volt – jelentette a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI).
A lövöldözés a tengerészgyalogság Twentynine Palmsban lévő támaszpontján történt, Los Angelestől mintegy 200 kilométernyire keletre.
A közlemény szűkszavúan számolt be a történtekről. Helyi idő szerint a reggeli órákban jelentették a lövöldözés hírét, mire a katonai rendőrség kivonult, körbevette a támaszpontot, és tárgyalásokba kezdett a lövöldözővel. Két óra elteltével azonban a tettes meglőtte önmagát. Ekkor elfogták és kórházba szállították. A kedd délutáni kórházi jelentések szerint állapota nem válságos. A katonai rendőrség tagjai közül senki nem sebesült meg.
Az első híradásokból nem derült ki, hogy a lövéseket leadó férfi a tengerészgyalogság tagja-e, mint ahogyan az FBI arról sem közölt még feltételezéseket sem, hogy mi lehetett tettének az oka.
A Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda a Pentagon (védelmi minisztérium) bevonásával megindította a vizsgálatot az ügyben.

Terrorista merénylet történt a texasi Corpus Christi városban lévő katonai támaszponton – jelentette be csütörtökön este a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI).
A lövöldözést helyi idő szerint csütörtök délelőtt történt, három amerikai katona meghalt. Az első jelentések arról szóltak, hogy többen megsebesültek, de később kiderült, hogy a merényletnek egyetlen sebesültje van, s az állapota kielégítő.
Délutáni sajtókonferenciáján Leah Greeves, az FBI tisztségviselője közölte: az eddigi jelek és bizonyítékok arra mutatnak, hogy terrorista akció volt, s bár az elkövetőt azonnal agyonlőtték, egy másik elkövető vagy cinkostárs még szabadlábon lehet, valahol a városban. Részleteket nem közölt az esetről és az elkövető kilétéről, mint ahogyan arra sem kívánt kitérni, hogy milyen jelek erősítik a feltételezést, hogy a lövöldözés „terrorizmussal összefüggő” cselekedet volt.
Greeves nyugalomra és óvatosságra is intette a helybélieket.
Az amerikai kommentárok emlékeztettek rá, hogy tavaly decemberben egy floridai katonai támaszponton volt lövöldözés. Akkor a szaúdi királyi légierő amerikai továbbképzésen lévő egyik fiatal tisztje lövöldözött. Az elkövetőt agyonlőtték, s a szövetségi igazságügyi minisztérium az FBI-jal közösen vizsgálatot indított az ügyben, együttműködve a szaúdi hatóságokkal is. Washingtonban a napokban jelentették be, hogy a floridai merénylet elkövetője az al-Kaida nevű terrorszervezettel állt szoros kapcsolatban és a merényletet is a terrorszervezettel egyeztetve, hosszas előkészítés után követte el.
