 Később kijelentette, hogy a légvédelmi erőknek három drónt sikerült megsemmisíteniük a víz felett. Állítólag a városban nem sérültek meg civil objektumok a támadás következtében.
 A rosZMI 03 óra 25 perc körül arról számolt be, hogy a Kercsi hídon átmenetileg leállították a forgalmat.

 A jelentés szerint a megszállt Krímben, Kercs városában ma más másodszor dörrentek robbanások. Az előző, dél körül történt támadás nyomán füst gomolyog a krími híd fölött.
  
 Szergej Akszjonov, a krími megszálló hatóság vezetője azt állította, hogy állítólag a légvédelmi erők működnek. A közlése szerint állítólag egy második rakétát lőttek le a Kercsi-szoros felett. „Újabb ellenséges rakétát lőttek le a Kercsi-szoros felett. Köszönjük a légvédelmi erőink magas szakmai felkészültségét és éberségét!” – hangsúlyozta a megszállt Krím vezére.
 Oroszország védelmi minisztériuma közölte, hogy ma, délután 15:00 óra körül Kijev állítólag újabb kísérletet tett a krími híd lerombolására egy csapásmérésre átalakított SZ-200-as légvédelmi irányított rakétával. „Az ukrán rakétát a légvédelem észlelte és még a levegőben lelőtte, károk nem keletkeztek, áldozatok nincsenek” – mutatott rá az orosz védelmi minisztérium

Robbanások Szevasztopolban és Kercsben

Augusztus 16-án éjszaka az ideiglenesen megszállt Krím több kerületében is robbanások dördültek. A helyi hatóságok beszámoltak a légvédelmi erők munkájáról. Az is ismert, hogy a megszállók ismét blokkolták a Kercsi hidat.
