„A teherautó vezetője megszegte a közlekedési szabályokat és a tilos jelzés ellenére a vonat elé hajtott egy vasúti átjáróba” – közölte a társaság. Legalább 16 embert, köztük egy gyereket és két mozdonyvezetőt kórházba szállítottak. További 140 utas kisebb zúzódásokat és horzsolásokat szenvedett – közölte az Orosz Vasutak, hozzátéve, hogy a vonaton összesen 803-an utaztak. A helyi hatóságok által megosztott képeken az oldalára dőlt kocsik, a fülkékből kimenekülő utasok és a helyszínen lévő tűzoltóautók látszottak. Vizsgálat indult a baleset ügyében – számolt be az Origo a The Moscow Times nyomán.

A powerful storm rumbled through Moscow on Thursday afternoon, carrying heavy rains and winds that ripped scores of trees from the ground and killed at least one person, local authorities said.

A rendőrségi tájékoztatás szerint a tehervonat etanolt és kukoricasűrítményt szállított, amely kigyulladt a baleset nyomán. Kandiyohi megye rendőrségének közleménye szerint a baleset helyszínének szűk egy kilométeres körzetében rendelték el az ott lakók kitelepítését, amelyet a hatóság irányít.
A csütörtök reggeli kiadott közlemény szerint a lángokat akkor még nem sikerült eloltani, ezért a hatóság Raymond kisváros elkerülésére kért mindenkit.
