Charlie Kirk konzervatív aktivistát nyakon lőtték szerdán egy diákokkal tartott találkozó során a Utah Valley Egyetemen (UVU), a Utah állambeli Oremben.
A Newsweek beszámolója szerint az egyetem megerősítette: Charlie Kirköt egy mesterlövész lőtte meg az UVU rendezvényén.
A Utah Valley Egyetem szóvivője a Newsweeknek nyilatkozva elmondta, hogy Kirk szerdán helyi idő szerint 13 óra körül kezdett beszélni, amikor körülbelül 13:20-kor egyetlen lövést adtak le egy közeli épület tetejéről, nagyjából 200 méterre a helyszíntől. Az egyetem megerősítette, hogy Kirköt eltalálták, és egy gyanúsítottat őrizetbe vettek. A hatóságok, köztük az FBI is vizsgálja a történteket.
