A brit Just Stop Oil környezetvédő csoport aktivistái megzavarták a világ egyik legjelentősebb komolyzenei fesztiválja, a BBC Proms megnyitóját, majd rövid időn belül fennakadást okoztak a Channel 4 televízió egyik műsorának felvételén is.
Két aktivista a patinás londoni Royal Albert Hall rendezvényközpont színpadára szaladt be pénteken a BBC Proms teltházas, azaz mintegy hatezer néző előtt tartott megnyitóján. Konfettit szórtak szét, hangszóróba kiabálva követelték a brit kormánytól, hogy ne engedélyezzenek újabb olaj- és gázkitermelési projekteket – közölte a Just Stop Oil a Twitteren.
🎻 We Cannot Afford to Fiddle While Rome Burns — Just Stop Oil Disrupt the Proms
🎉 Two Just Stop Oil supporters have ran onto the stage at the @RoyalAlbertHall on the opening night of the @bbcproms
A közönség soraiból többen nemtetszésüknek adtak hangot.

Eco zealots shouldn’t disrupt sports events, weddings or the Proms.
My message is this: Leave people to enjoy the events they love, and stop damaging your own cause. https://t.co/IEopEjSsiU
A Just Stop Oil közzétett egy videót nem sokkal később arról, hogy a Channel 4 brit csatorna The Last Leg című beszélgetős show-ja felvételén is megjelentek aktivistái, akik egy láthatósági mellényt adtak át a műsorvezetőnek.
