2025. február 18-án reggel tűz ütött ki egy lakóépületben Monostor (Monasztirec) községben, a Huszti járásban – tájékoztatott a Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálatának (DSZNSZ) kárpátaljai kirendeltsége a Facebookon.
A szomszéd észlelte a házból kiáramló füstöt, és azonnal értesítette a tűzoltókat. A helyiek vízzel próbálták meg eloltani a lángokat, miközben eltávolították a tűz közeléből a gázpalackot, ezzel megelőzve egy esetleges robbanást.
A tűzoltók kiérkezésükkor sikeresen megakadályozták, hogy a tűz más épületekre is átterjedjen. Az oltás után az épületben megtalálták a 74 éves háztulajdonos holttestét.
A tűz keletkezésének okát és a keletkezett anyagi károk mértékét szakértők vizsgálják.
