A belügyminisztérium tájékoztatása szerint egy embert keresnek a Japán-tenger partjainál lévő Puszanban, és egy sérültről is tudni. Han Duk Szu miniszterelnök az illetékes kormányzati szervekkel folytatott egyeztetésén leszögezte: mindent meg kell tenni az emberi életek megvédésére.
A hatóságok több mint 10 ezer rendőrt mozgósítottak, és növelték a közúti ellenőrzések számát is. Tavaly nyáron 115 éve nem tapasztalt hevességű esők csaptak le Szöulra, ahol több szuterénlakást elöntött a víz.
Han Duk Szu az egyeztetéseken azt mondta, a monszunesők Észak-Koreában is nehézségeket okoznak, és elképzelhető, hogy Phenjan megnyithatja a zsilipeket a két Koreát összekötő folyó észak-koreai részén.
Az ilyen lépések, melyekről az észak-koreai kormány általában nem tájékoztatja előzetesen Szöult, az utóbbi években már több, halálos áldozatokkal járó áradást okoztak Dél-Koreában.
A dél-koreai országegyesítési minisztérium azt közölte, ismét felszólította Phenjant, előzetesen jelezzen minden, a gátakkal kapcsolatos intézkedést, ám a kommunista ország vezetése egyelőre nem reagált a tárca kérésére.

A heves monszunesők által okozott árvizek és földcsuszamlások az elmúlt három napban legkevesebb 50 ember életét követelték India északi és keleti területein.
Az eső több száz falvat öntött el. Sok helyen csapdába ejtette a víz az embereket, mások házait teljesen elmosta az áradás a Reuters beszámolója szerint. A bajba jutottak kimentésén folyamatosan dolgoznak a katasztrófavédelem munkatársai, helikoptereket is bevetnek annak érdekében, hogy ki tudják hozni az embereket az elszigetelt falvakból.
Eddig 120 ezer embert kellett kitelepíteni az érintett területekről. Az áram- és vízellátás sokfelé akadozik az ítéletidő miatt, és a monszun a közlekedési infrastruktúrában is komoly károkat okoz.
A Himalájában fekvő Himácsal Prades államban a legrosszabb a helyzet, csak itt 36 halálos áldozatot jelentettek az elmúlt három napban. A szomszédos Uttarakhandban 4 halottról tudnak a hatóságok, és 13 eltűntet keresnek a mentőcsapatok. A keleti Odisa államban 6 áldozatról számoltak be, Dzshárkhandban pedig 5 embert ragadott magával egy megáradt folyó.
A hónap elején még arról szóltak az előrejelzések, hogy India területén átlagos mennyiségű csapadék fog esni augusztusban és szeptemberben. A kilátások ígéretesnek tűntek az aratás szempontjából. India 1,3 milliárdos lakosságának fele a mezőgazdaságból él.

Huszonegy ember, köztük több gyerek villámcsapás következtében vesztette életét pénteken, további négy ember halálát pedig fölcsuszamlások okozták Csittagong kikötővárosban.
Szombatra sem javult a helyzet a hatóságok közlése szerint: az árvíz több mint négymillió embert vágott el a külvilágtól, az érintett régió szinte teljes egészében nincs áram.
Pénteken az ország harmadik legnagyobb repülőterét is le kellett zárni Szilhet városban.
Az ország északkeleti térségének nagy része víz alá került a heves esőzés okozta áradások következtében.
A katonaság segítségével igyekeznek kimenekíteni a sokszor a házaik tetején menedéket kereső embereket az érintett régiókból.
Egyes falvakat néhány óra leforgása alatt teljesen elöntött a víz, innen az embereket más települések iskoláiban kialakított szükségszállásokon helyezik el átmenetileg.
A következő két napra további heves esőzéseket jósolnak Bangladesben.
Az északkelet-indiai Asszám államban is mintegy kétmillió ember otthona került víz alá áradások miatt.
A hatóságok közlése szerint kilenc ember meghalt. Ebben a térségben is további nagy mennyiségű csapadék várható vasárnapig.
