Neki akart hajtani az amerikai haditengerészet
kórházhajójának, az USNS Mercynek egy mozdonyvezető Los Angelesben. A 44 éves
Eduardo Moreno azért futott túl a vonattal a vágányon, mert úgy hitte, a
hatóságok nem mondanak igazat, és biztosan nem azért vezényelték a hajót a Los
Angeles-i kikötőbe, hogy oda küldhessék át a kórházak a nem fertőzött
pácienseket.
Moreno végül nem tudott nekihajtani a hajónak, attól mintegy
230 méterre állt meg, több kerítést is átszakítva. Az ámokfutás során senki sem
sérült meg, Moreno ellen viszont vádat emeltek, amiért tönkretette a vonatot –
közölte az ügyészség. Az FBI-nak adott vallomásában Moreno azt mondta: fel
akarta nyitni az emberek szemét. A Port of Los Angeles szóvivője, Phillip
Sanfield úgy nyilatkozott, hogy a vonat igazából nem jutott túl közel a
hajóhoz.
