Biztonsági intézkedésként evakuálták a közeli gimnáziumot.
A környező területet lezárták, hogy a mentőszolgálatok végezni tudják munkájukat. A tűzoltóság drónt is bevetett. A tűz okát még nem tudják.

A svéd rendőrség engedélyezett egy gyűlést Irak stockholmi nagykövetsége elé, ahol a bejelentett két résztvevő az iraki zászló és a Korán elégetését tervezi. Erre a hírre a Sard-párti tömegek megrohamozták a bagdadi svéd nagykövetséget csütörtök éjszaka és felgyújtották az épületét. Az információk szerint senki nem sérült meg a nagykövetség dolgozói közül.
Tüntetők százai rohamozták meg a Bagdad központjában található svéd nagykövetség épületét csütörtök reggel. Megmászták a falait és felgyújtották a diplomáciai központot tiltakozásul a svédországi Korán-égetés miatt.
A nagykövetség összes alkalmazottja biztonságban van, senki nem sérült meg
– közölte a svéd külügyminisztérium. A tárca elítélte a támadást és hangsúlyozta, hogy az iraki hatóságoknak meg kell védeniük a külképviseleteket – írta meg a Reuters.
A csütörtöki tüntetést Muqtada Sadr síita lelkész támogatói hívták össze, hogy tiltakozzanak a szent könyvük meggyalázása ellen. Az akciót a Telegram közösségi média oldalon szervezték. Sard Irak egyik legbefolyásosabb személyisége. Több százezer híve van, akiket gyakran az utcára szólít különböző megmozdulásokra. Ilyen volt tavaly nyáron, amikor elfoglalták Bagdad Zöld Zónáját, ahol halálos összecsapásokba keveredtek.
A nagykövetség felégetésére azt követően került sor, hogy a svéd rendőrség engedélyt adott egy gyülekezésre Irak stockholmi nagykövetsége előtt. a tüntetésen az iraki zászló és a Korán elégetését tervezik, illetve az egyik résztvevő az a férfi, aki júniusban egy stockholmi mecset előtt már felgyújtotta az iszlám szent könyvét.
Korábban a svéd rendőrség több olyan tüntetésre vonatkozó kérelmet is elutasított, ahol Koránt akartak égetni, ezt biztonsági okokkal tették. Később viszont a svéd bíróság hatályon kívül helyezte a rendőrség döntését, a szólásszabadság védelmére hivatkozva.

A szólásszabadságot nem a megvetés kifejtésére kellene használni a pápa szerint.
A One-Bagdad nevű Telegram-csoportba feltöltött felvételek szerint a tüntetők helyi idő szerint csütörtökön hajnali egy órakor kezdenek gyülekezni a svéd nagykövetség épülete körül, és Sard-párti jelszavakat skandálnak. Nagyjából egy órával később kezdődött a támadás.
Az iraki külügyminisztérium elítélte a támadást a nagykövetség ellen. A kormány utasította a hatóságokat, hogy azonosítsák az agresszív tüntetőket és vonják őket felelősségre. A tüzet a diplomáciai épületben a tűzoltók még az éjszaka eloltották. A hatóságok végül rátámadtak arra a néhány tucat tüntetőre, akik a kiérkezésük után is a helyszínen maradtak. A Sard-pártiak kövekkel dobálták a rendőröket és a tűzoltókat.

Azt ugyanakkor még nem sikerült megállapítani, hogy pontosan ki küldte a robbanóanyagot.
A robbanószerkezeteket Pedro Sanchez spanyol miniszterelnök hivatalának, más kormányzati struktúráknak, Ukrajna spanyolországi nagykövetségének, az amerikai diplomáciai képviseletnek és az EU műholdas vállalatának címezték. A csomagok november 24. és december 2. között érkeztek meg.
Valamennyi levélbombát sikerült semlegesíteni, kivéve azt, amelyet az ukrán nagykövetségre küldtek: a diplomáciai képviselet biztonsági szolgálatának egyik alkalmazottja megsérült a boríték felnyitásakor.

Ukrajna kazahsztáni nagykövetsége Nur-Sultaniban non-stop üzemmódba áll át. Dmitro Kuleba külügyminiszter megbízásából a diplomáciai képviseletnek az ukrán állampolgárok érdekeinek védelmére kell összpontosítania, jelentette be Oleh Nyikolenko, a külügyminisztérium szóvivője, számolt be az LB.ua.

„A helyzetet bonyolítja a Kazahsztánban bevezetett rendkívüli állapot, a mobilkommunikáció és az internet instabil működése. A regionális személyszállítás részben korlátozott, a nemzetközi járatok jelentős késéssel közlekednek, egyes járatokat teljesen törölnek” – közölte a Külügyminisztérium.
Tegnap este ukrán állampolgárok egy csoportja nem tudott felszállni az Almati –Kijev járattal, mivel a repülőtér felfüggesztette működését. Ukrán diplomaták segítettek éjszakai szálláshelyet keresni. A nagykövetség jelenleg is tárgyal a repülőtér adminisztrációjával és a légitársasággal a járat elindításának lehetőségeiről valamint tartja a kapcsolatot az utasokkal.
A külügyminisztérium információja szerint a Nur Sultan repülőtér hagyományos rendszerben működik.
„Elvárjuk a kazah hatóságoktól, hogy biztosítsák Ukrajna állampolgárai biztonságát, teljes körű segítséget nyújtsanak nekik, beleértve azokat az ukránokat is, akik el szeretnék hagyni Kazahsztán területét” – tette hozzá a Külügyminisztérium.
A Kazahsztánban tartózkodó ukránokat arra kérik, hogy kerüljék el a tömegrendezvények helyszíneit, többek között a nagyvárosokban, legyenek fokozottan éberek és körültekintőek, és regisztráljanak a DRUG elektronikus rendszerben, hogy a diplomaták időben segítséget tudjanak nyújtani.
Emlékeztetőül, Kazahsztánban január másodika óta zajlanak a tömeges tüntetések. Január 5-én a tüntetők adminisztratív épületeket foglaltak el, többek között a helyi önkormányzatokat. Az almati repülőteret is elfoglalták.
