Mintegy hatezer liter olaj ömlött az Északi-tengerbe a németországi Cuxhaven kikötővárosnál, ahol két hajó összeütközött – közölte szerdán a Tengerészeti Vészhelyzeti Parancsnokság.
A közlemény szerint a balesetben személyi sérülést nem jelentettek. A műszaki mentőszolgálat és a tűzoltóság munkatársai úszó olajgátakat állítottak fel, hogy megakadályozzák az olajfolt terjedését a vízben.
A 69 méter hosszú Capella tartályhajó szerdán reggel ütközött össze az olajfúró tornyok utánpótlását szállító 44 méteres Coastal Legenddel. A balesetben a Coastal Legend sérülése miatt ömlött olaj a tengerbe.
Az egyelőre nem derült ki, hogy a két hajó hogyan ütközhetett össze.
A cuxhaveni központi parancsnokság szóvivője elmondta, hogy becsléseik szerint mintegy hatezer liter olaj került a tengerbe. Hozzátette, hogy a kikötőben már amúgy is volt olaj a vízben, de – mint mondta – „minden csepp olaj, ami belekerül, már túl sok”.

Újabb tűz keletkezett az oroszországi Rosztov régióban található olajraktárak területén. Az orosz Telegram-csatornák jelentése szerint támadó ukrán drónok okozták a tüzet.
Az orosz védelmi minisztérium és Vaszilij Golubev, Rosztov kormányzója közölte, hogy az éjszaka folyamán négy drónt semmisítettek meg a térség felett, de nem tettek említést az olajraktár elleni támadásról.
A Baza nevű, orosz biztonsági szolgálatokhoz közel álló Telegram-csatorna arról számolt be, hogy a rosztovi terület kamenszkij járásában található olajraktárnál három tartály gyulladt ki, miután két drón zuhant le a területre.
Az orosz közösségi médiában megosztott videófelvételek alapján a Reuters hírügynökségnek sikerült azonosítania az egyik videó helyszínét, amely valóban a Kamenszkij járásban található.
Kifejezetten sok támadás érte a rosztovi régiót idén nyáron. Több kilométer hosszú olajfolt terjeng a Karibi-térségben, Tobago déli partjainál, amelyet egy egyelőre tisztázatlan hajószerencsétlenség okozott. A legénységnek nyoma veszett – számolt be az MTI a dpa német hírügynökség nyomán.
A tobagói katasztrófavédelem adatai szerint az olajfolt hossza 11,6 kilométer, és a felborult hajót a partoktól nyugatabbra, a szárazföld közelében találták meg.
Az olajfolt már károsította a zátony egy részét Scarborough partjainál – jelentette az Amerika Hangja (Voice of America, VoA) amerikai nemzetközi műsorszolgáltató. A hatóságok attól is tartanak, hogy az olajszennyezés veszélyezteti a halakat és egyéb tengeri élőlényeket.
Trinidad és Tobago miniszterelnöke, Keith Rowley valódi katasztrófának nevezte az esetet a helyi idő szerint vasárnap megtartott sajtótájékoztatóján.
Információk szerint a hajó már szerdán zátonynak ütközött, akkor kezdett szivárogni belőle az olaj. A hatóságok még aznap bejelentést kaptak a felborult hajóról, viszont a legénység részéről nem kaptak segélyhívást – közölte a VoA, hozzátéve, hogy a hatóságok a hajóra a legénysége nélkül találtak rá.
A helyszínen készült fényképeken az állami olajtársaság munkásai láthatók, amint megkísérlik megfékezni az olajszennyezést. A BBC brit közmédia szerint nagyjából 1000 önkéntes csatlakozott a munkálatokhoz, hogy eltakarítsák a szennyező olajat, míg a búvárok megpróbálták izolálni a szivárgás forrását. Az elhagyott hajót Gulfstream néven azonosították.
Tobago kormányfője, Farley Augustine elmondása szerint az események súlyosbodása miatt a kormány a legmagasabb, 3. szintű katasztrófának minősítheti az esetet.

A hatóságok önkéntesek közreműködésével próbálják megakadályozni, hogy a szennyeződés tovább hatoljon a lápvidékre, illetve a Bolsa Chica ökológiai rezervátumba.

A görög biztonsági szolgálatok őrizetbe vettek két görög állampolgárt Rodoszon, akiket azzal vádolnak, hogy Törökország részére kémkedtek – közölte az ERT görög közszolgálati televízió a rendvédelmi szervekre hivatkozva szombaton.
Az ERT úgy tudja, a gyanúsítottak egyike egy komphajón teljesített szolgálatot a Görögországhoz tartozó Kasztelórizo és Rodosz szigetek között, míg társa a rodoszi török konzulátus munkatársa.
A tájékoztatás szerint az ügyben a görög rendőrség szorosan együttműködött a hírszerzéssel és Rodoszon a helyi biztonsági ügynökséggel. Az Etnosz című görög lap szerint a komphajón dolgozó gyanúsított fényképeket készített görög hadihajókról és ezeket megküldte a rodoszi török konzulátus alkalmazottjának.

A newsit.gr görög hírportál úgy értesült, hogy két muszlim vallású görög állampolgárról van szó, akik a Törökországgal határos Thrákia régióból származnak. A görög kémelhárítás szerint a török konzulátus főtitkára toborozta be a komphajón szolgáló szakácsot. Úgy tudni, kémtevékenységüket augusztusban kezdték, amikortól egyébként már megfigyelés alatt álltak. A szakács otthonában házkutatást tartottak, ami során lefoglaltak egy laptopot és több telefont, amelyek kiértékelésétől további információkat remélnek a görög biztonsági szolgálatok.

A hajótest két darabra tört. A helyszínre küldött vontatóhajók már megkezdték a munkát.
Múlt héten a megmaradt mintegy 3 ezer tonna üzemanyag nagy részét kiszivattyúzták a hajóból, miután környezetvédelmi csoportok arra figyelmeztettek, hogy a korábban érintetlen partvidék károsodása visszafordíthatatlan lehet.
Eddig is önkéntesek ezrei dolgoztak a helyszínen a környezetvédelmi minisztérium támogatásával, hogy próbálják enyhíteni a természeti katasztrófa hatásait.
