 A miniszterelnök jelezte, utasította a szakhatóságokat, hogy fokozzák a megelőző óvintézkedéseket a koronavírus Kínából történő behurcolásának és esetleges ukrajnai terjedésének a megakadályozása érdekében. Mint írta, Ukrajnában jelenleg nincs egyetlen laboratóriumi vizsgálattal alátámasztott koronavírus-fertőzéses eset sem, de a hatóságoknak minden valószínűsíthető esetre megvan a forgatókönyvük.
 Honcsaruk hangsúlyozta, utasításba adta a külügyminisztériumnak, a rendkívüli helyzetek állami szolgálatának, a védelmi minisztériumnak és infrastrukturális tárcának, hogy haladéktalanul dolgozzanak ki tervet és szervezzék meg az ukrán állampolgárok Kína területéről történő evakuálását a koronavírus okozta fertőzés terjedése miatt.
 A kormányfő azt is közölte, „hétfőn az asztalán kell lennie az egészségügyi minisztérium által kidolgozott intézkedések tervezetének a koronavírus Ukrajnába történő behurcolásának és terjedésének a megakadályozását illetően.” Jelezte, utasította az egészségügyi, belügy-, védelmi, oktatási és infrastrukturális minisztériumokat „nemzeti terv” kidolgozására, amely a koronavírus esetleges ukrajnai megjelenésére történő reagálásra vonatkozó és a kórokozó terjedésének a megakadályozására irányuló intézkedéseket irányoz elő.
 Az Orosz Külügyminisztérium pénteken bejelentette, hogy evakuálják az orosz állampolgárokat Kínából. A döntést közölték a kínai illetékesekkel – adta hírül az orosz média.
