Meghalt Vlagyimir Szkljarov orosz balett-táncos, miután kizuhant egy épület ötödik emeletéről – írja a Guardian. A művész 39 éves volt.
Szkljarov a szentpétervári Mariinszkij Színház szólótáncosa volt. Az intézmény tájékoztatása szerint hétfőn gerincműtétje lett volna egy sérülés miatt. A fájdalmaira gyógyszert szedett. A halálának pontos körülményeit még vizsgálják, de egyelőre balesetként beszélnek róla.
Szkljarov 1985-ben született Szentpéterváron, 2003 óta volt a Mariinszkij társulatának tagja, 2011-től szólistája. Színháza hatalmas veszteségnek nevezte a halálát; közleményükben úgy fogalmaztak, hogy örökre beírta a nevét az egyetemes balettművészet-történetbe.
Pályafutása húsz éve során Szkljarov szerepelt többek között a Hattyúk tava, a Rómeó és Júlia, a Csipkerózsika, a Don Quijote és az Aliz Csodaországban című előadásokban. Olyan színpadokon léphetett fel, mint a New York-i Metropolitan Opera vagy a londoni Királyi Operaház. 2013-ban feleségül vette a szintén a Mariinszkijnál táncoló Maria Shirinkinát, két közös gyermekük született.
Irina Baranovszkaja balerina a Telegramnak azt mondta kollégája halála kapcsán, hogy „ostoba baleset” volt. Szerinte az történt, hogy Szkljarov kiment a keskeny erkélyre levegőzni és dohányozni, ám közben elvesztette az egyensúlyát, ez vezetett a halálához.
