3400 hrivnyás pénzbírságot szabtak ki egy kijevi líceum tanárnőjére, aki egy első osztályosoknak tartott órán orosz szinkronnal vetített rajzfilmet.
A panaszt az egyik tanuló édesapja nyújtotta be, aki az orosz–ukrán háború veteránja. Az ügyet az ukrán államnyelv védelméért felelős biztos hivatala vizsgálta ki.
A pedagógus elismerte a szabálysértést, ugyanakkor azzal indokolta döntését, hogy a rajzfilm orosz nyelvű változata használatának „nevelési célja” volt. Hozzátette, hogy a hang halkra volt állítva, és a gyerekek nem kifogásolták a vetítést.
A nyelvi ombudsman hivatala szerint azonban ez nem elfogadható indoklás. Hangsúlyozták, hogy az oktatásban kötelező az államnyelv használata, és az orosz nyelv alkalmazása nem igazolható azzal, hogy a tanulók nem ellenezték.
A vizsgálat lezárása után a tanárnőre 3400 hrivnyás bírságot szabtak ki, amelyet még aznap befizetett.

Késeléssé fajult az orosz nyelvű kiszolgálás miatti vita az Alfredóhoz címzett kocsmában Kijev belvárosában, ahol Oleh Helevej, a Szvoboda párt volt parlamenti képviselője és társa – utóbbi késsel – rátámadt egy vendégre, mert az az oroszul beszélő pincérnő védelmére kelt – írta hétfőn a strana.ua hírportál.
A vasárnap történt esetről a hírportál kiderítette, hogy a láthatóan ittas Helevej egy büntetett előéletű cimborájával együtt érkezett a vendéglátóhelyre, és azonnal belekötött a pincérnőbe, mert az nem államnyelven szólt hozzájuk. Amikor az egyik vendég a pincérnő védelmére kelt, a volt képviselő és társa rátámadt. Az illetőt a sarokba szorították, amikor Helevej társa kést rántott és többször megvágta a vendéget.
A helyszínre rendőrjárőrt és mentőt hívtak. A késelőt őrizetbe vették, Helevejt meghallgatása után a rendőrök elengedték.
