Az írországi Shannon repülőtéren egy férfi felmászott egy amerikai katonai szállító repülőgép szárnyára, és fejszével elkezdte ütni – számolt be az ír Journal kiadvány.
Megjegyezték, a férfi illegálisan lépett be a Shannon repülőtérre, egy amerikai légierő C130 Hercules repülőgépének egyik szárnyán látták.
Egy forrás azt nyilatkozta a kiadványnak, hogy a gyanúsított „jelentős” kárt okozott a repülőgépben. A rendvédelmi tisztviselőknek mozgólétrát kellett használniuk a férfi letartóztatásához.
A rendőrség később átvizsgálta a repülőteret, hogy megtalálja azt a helyet, amelyen keresztül a repülőgép megrongálásában érintett személy belépett a korlátozott zónába.
Az incidens miatt az ír repülőteret 30 percre le kellett zárni, és néhány járatot késtek a biztonsági résről szóló jelentések miatt.
