 A jelentés szerint a pénteki állapotoknak megfelelően 70 embert, köztük 9 gyermeket ápoltak a Lemberg Megyei Klinikai Fertőző Kórházban és a fül-orr-gégészeti klinikán akut bélfertőzés tüneteivel. A járványügyi vizsgálat eredményei szerint megállapították, hogy az összes beteg július 14-15-én a Lemberg belvárosában található egyik kínai étteremben járt.
  
 A betegek jellegzetes tüneteket mutattak: láz (akár 39–40 °C-ig), hányinger, hányás, hasmenés, hasi fájdalom és általános gyengeség. Két esetben laboratóriumi úton igazolták az ételmérgezés egyik veszélyes kórokozó, a Salmonella enteritidis jelenlétét.
 A járványmegelőző központ szakemberei haladéktalanul epidemiológiai vizsgálatot végeztek, kikérdezték az összes kórházban fekvő beteget, és kérdőíveket töltöttek ki. Ezután megállapították, hogy a betegek milyen termékeket fogyasztottak. Ezen adatok alapján összeállítottak egy élelmiszertáblázatot, és kiderült, hogy mind a 70 beteg fogyasztott a szingapúri sajttorta desszertből. Jelenleg átfogó munka folyik a fertőzés lokalizálásának és terjedésének megakadályozása érdekében.
 A lembergi egészségügyi hatóságok azt tanácsolják, hogy csak megfelelő vendéglátóhelyeket válasszanak, és ügyeljen a helyiségek, a személyzet és az élelmiszer-tárolási körülmények tisztaságára is. Kerüljék az olyan ételek fogyasztását, amelyeknek kérdéses a szaga, íze vagy amelyeket nem megfelelő hőmérsékleten tároltak. Mindig mossanak kezet szappannal étkezés előtt, WC-használat után vagy nyilvános helyeken.

 Az Európai Unióban és az Egyesült Királyság területén tapasztalt szalmonella-fertőzések kapcsán indított vizsgálatot az Európai Élelmiszerbiztonsági Hatóság (EFSA), amely megállapította, hogy a fertőzés forrása ukrán eredetű baromfihús volt. A német agrarheute hírportál információi alapján a fertőzés egy esetben halált okozott.
  
 A fertőzés következtében huszonhárom személy szorult kórházi kezelésre, hatan vérmérgezést kaptak, míg az Egyesült Királyságban egy ember életét vesztette. Az EFSA által közölt adatok szerint 2021 szeptembere óta körülbelül 500 fertőzési esetet regisztráltak.
 Az érintett baromfihús fagyasztott csirkemell formájában került be az Európai Unió és az Egyesült Királyság piacaira Ukrajnából.
