„Az orosz rendkívüli helyzetek minisztériuma moszkvai főigazgatóságának válságkezelő központjába bejelentés érkezett a Triumfalnaja tér 2. szám alatti tűzről. Az előzetes adatok szerint nincsenek áldozatok” – közölte a RIA Novosztyi orosz állami hírügynökség a katasztrófavédelmi minisztérium közleménye alapján.
Később a tárca hozzátette, hogy „a színházban keletkezett tűz a faszerkezeteken keresztül terjed. A rendkívüli helyzetek minisztériuma nagy erőket fordít a megfékezésére, jelenleg 76 ember és 21 egységnyi felszerelés dolgozik a helyszínen, 50 embert pedig már evakuáltak”.
A Szatíra Színház sajtószolgálata az ügynökségnek azt mondta, hogy füst volt az épületben. „Természetesen tűzvédelmi szabályokat betartottuk. A helyzetet ellenőrzés alatt tartjuk. Részletek később lesznek” – mondta az ügynökség beszélgetőpartnere. Hozzátette azt is, hogy a színház lemondta a délutáni előadást.
