 Az ügyészség indítványozta, hogy a bíróság rendelje el Szilágyi István fiának a letartóztatását apja meggyilkolása miatt. A bíróság az indítványt megalapozottnak tartotta, ezért elrendelte azt.
 A megalapozott gyanú szerint a 49 éves férfi vasárnap reggel, a XVII. kerületi otthonukban addig ütötte kézzel és egy kalapáccsal az apját, az ismert színészt, Szilágyi Istvánt, míg az meg nem halt.
 
 A rendőrök a gyilkosság után elfogták a férfit, akit
támadás elhárítására korlátozottan képes ember ellen elkövetett emberöléssel gyanúsítottak meg.
 Később kérték a letartóztatását, amelyet a bíró ma el is rendelt. A férfi az Igazságügyi Megfigyelő és Elmegyógyító Intézetbe kerül.

A rendőrök a helyszínen elfogták a bántalmazót, a 49 éves Sz. Pétert, majd szemlét tartottak és megállapították, hogy a férfi halálát idegenkezűség okozta – írja a Police.hu. A BRFK Életvédelmi Osztálya Sz. Péter ellen emberölés bűntett gyanúja miatt indított eljárást. Az áldozat Szilágyi István, a legendás színész. Egy bolttulajdonos a Bornak úgy nyilatkozott, Szilágyi felesége magánkívül volt, segítségért kiabálva rohant be a boltba.
 
 A színész fia komoly alkoholproblémákkal küzd, a két férfi között rendszeres volt a tettlegesség, jellemzően Péter verte a rossz fizikai állapotban lévő szerencsétlen apját, ha az nem adott neki pénzt alkoholra. 2018. július elején 2 év – végrehajtásában 3 év próbaidőre felfüggesztett – szabadságvesztésre ítélték Szilágyi Pétert, mert több alkalommal súlyosan bántalmazta édesapját. A bíró az ítélet indokolása során azt mondta: „ez az ítélet majd visszatartja a férfit attól, hogy újra kezet emeljen idős, beteg apjára”.
