  A támadó Szlovjanszk védői után kémkedett, és a térség teljes elfoglalását várta. Arra is felszólította a megszállókat, hogy brutálisan kínozzák meg és öljék meg az ukrán foglyokat.
 A 66 éves nőt a biztonsági szolgálat őrizetbe vette, a bíróság 15 év fegyházra ítélte.

 A támadás következtében 11 személy vesztette életét, 22-en pedig megsérültek, többeket a romok alól emeltek ki. Az oroszok SZ–300-as rakétákat használtak, összesen 7 találat érte a várost. A tűzoltóság elmondása szerint 65 tonna romot takarítottak el.
