Az Egyesült Államokat fenyegető összehangolt terrortámadás megnövekedett veszélyével érvelve kért megnövelt költségvetési forrásokat az amerikai Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) igazgatója csütörtökön kongresszusi meghallgatásán.
Christopher Wray a Képviselőház 2025-ös költségvetésről szóló bizottsági ülésén azt hangoztatta, hogy október 7. után külföldi terrorszervezetek sora szólított fel támadásokra amerikaiak és szövetségeseik ellen – írja az MTI. Megállapította, hogy a legközvetlenebb veszélyforrást ma az jelenti, hogy a felszólításokból ösztönzést merítve egyének vagy kisebb csoportok követnek el belföldön terrortámadást.
Hozzátette azt is, hogy az Iszlám Állam afganisztáni szervezete által Moszkvában végrehajtott támadás növeli a valós aggodalmat egy összehangolt terrorista akció miatt is.
Minden eszközre, minden emberre és minden forrásra szükség van most, hogy képesek legyünk megküzdeni a fenyegetettséggel és fenn tudjuk tartani az amerikaiak biztonságát – fogalmazott az FBI igazgatója, és hozzátette, hogy most nem annak van itt az ideje, hogy költségvetési csökkentés vagy bármilyen visszalépés következzen be.
Az amerikai hatóságok Idaho Államban a hétvégén vettek őrizetbe egy tizenévest, akit azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy az Iszlám Állam nevében készült terrorakcióra egy templomban.
A 18 éves férfit szombaton fogták el, egy nappal az állítólag kitervelt terrorakció előtt. Az ügyészség vádirata szerint Alexander Mercurio azt tervezte, hogy gyúlékony anyaggal, bozótvágó késsel és fémcsővel, valamint az apjától ellopott lőfegyverrel támadja meg az otthona közelében működő templomot vasárnap Coeur d’Alene városában.
A nyomozás megállapítása szerint Alexander Mercurio keresztény vallású szülei akarata ellenére áttért a muzulmán hitre.
Állítása szerint a koronavírus-járvány kezdetén, az iskolabezárások idején, gyerekként vette fel a kapcsolatot az Iszlám Állam egy csoportjával. Ezt követően mintegy két éven keresztül kommunikált a Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda fedett ügynökeivel, akik az Iszlám Állam tagjainak adták ki magukat.

A két pakisztáni férfi a gyanú szerint egy iráni terrorszervezet tagja lehet.
Letartóztattak két férfit Görögországban, mindkettejüket azzal vádolják, hogy támadást szerveztek egy Athén központjában lévő zsidó étterem ellen – írja a Euronews. A portál beszámolója szerint a hatóságok gyanítják, hogy a két férfi más zsidó célpontok ellen is tervezhetett támadásokat, ezek pedig hóval több áldozatot követelhettek volna, mint az étterem ellen tervezett akciójuk. Letartóztatásukra is azért most került sor, mert a nyomozók úgy vélték, hogy az étterem ellen néhány napon belül megindultak volna. Az ügyben keresnek egy harmadik, Görögországon kívül tartózkodó embert is.
A rendőrség a nyomozás részeként Zakinthosz szigetén is házkutatást tartott. Az eddig közölt információk alapján mindkét őrizetbe vett gyanúsított pakisztáni származású, Törökországból léptek be illegálisan Görögország területére. A hatóságok gyanúja szerint mindketten egy iráni terrorszervezet tagjai. A görög hatóság nyomozásában az izraeli Moszad is közreműködött.

A gyanúsítottaktól egyebek között egy roncsoló elemekkel megtöltött, házi készítésű robbanószerkezetet foglaltak le. A csoport létszámáról és nemzetiségi összetételéről a tájékoztatásban nem esett szó; a közlemény szerint egyik közép-ázsiai származású tagját Vlagyimir megyében vették őrizetbe. Az FSZB szerint a gyanúsítottak újabb tagokat próbáltak meg beszervezni a csoportba, és pénzt gyűjtöttek a tevékenységükhöz.
Alekszandr Bortnyikov, az FSZB igazgatója júniusban közölte, hogy Oroszországban az elmúlt tíz évben csaknem 160 terrorcselekményt sikerült meghiúsítani, ebből 43-at tavaly, idén pedig már húsznál is többet. Idén csak októberben Moszkvában, Volgográdban és Sztavropolban fogtak el merényletre készülő terroristákat.

A szervezet – az amerikai külügyminisztérium szerint – paramilitáris jellegű kiképzéseket tartott Szentpétervárott neonáciknak és fehér felsőbbrendűséget hirdető csoportoknak, amelyek pokolgépes robbantásokat követtek el.
„Ez az első alkalom, hogy az Egyesült Államok valaha is terroristának minősített fehér felsőbbrendűséget hirdetőket, ami érzékelteti, hogy ez a kormányzat milyen komolyan veszi az ilyen jellegű fenyegetéseket” – mondta újságíróknak Nathan Sales, az amerikai külügyminisztérium terrorellenes harccal foglalkozó vezető tisztségviselője. Hozzáfűzte, hogy a Trump-adminisztráció számára „elsődleges fontosságú” a hasonló fenyegetések elleni küzdelem.
Az Orosz Birodalmi Mozgalomról viszonylag kevés hír jelent meg eddig. A külügyminisztérium háttértájékoztatója szerint a csoport azt jelölte meg céljaként, hogy „helyreállítsa az orosz autokratikus monarchiát”, és véget vessen „a liberalizmus és a demokrácia rothadásának”.
Amerikai sajtóértesülések szerint a mozgalom Vlagyimir Putyin orosz elnökkel szemben határozza meg magát. Tagjai azonban – az amerikai sajtóban idézett Anton Sehovcov ukrán kutató könyve szerint – részt vettek azokban az önkéntes zászlóaljakban, amelyek az orosz katonák mellett harcoltak 2014-ben az Ukrajna elleni orosz hadműveletekben. Sehovcov az európai és benne az ukrán szélsőjobboldal elismert ukrán kutatója.
Nathan Sales az újságíróknak azt mondta: a mozgalom kapcsolatokat ápol európai és amerikai szélsőjobboldali csoportokkal, hogy „közös frontba fogja össze a hasonlóan gondolkodókat a vélt ellenségeik ellen”.
Az amerikai Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) az elmúlt években növekvő figyelmet szentelt a fehér felsőbbrendűséget hirdető szélsőjobboldali tömörüléseknek, és tavaly a szervezeten belül létre is hozott egy részleget, amely kizárólag a belföldi terrorizmussal és a gyűlöletből fakadó bűncselekményekkel foglalkozik. Christopher Wray, az FBI igazgatója idén februárban egy képviselőházi bizottsági meghallgatáson arról beszélt, hogy 2020-ban az Egyesült Államokban a legfontosabb fenyegetést ezek a csoportok és az általuk elkövetett bűncselekmények jelentik.
Donald Trump amerikai elnök tavaly rendelettel bővítette az amerikai hatóságok hatáskörét terrorellenes szankciók kiszabására. Egyúttal felhatalmazta a külügyminisztériumot, hogy azokat az embereket és csoportokat is terroristáknak minősítse, akik és amelyek részt vesznek terrorcselekményeket elkövetők kiképzésében.

A nő akkor került a terrorelhárító szolgálatok látókörébe, amikor két hónappal őrizetbe vétele előtt két, magát szintén terrorszimpatizáns házaspárnak kiadó titkosszolgálati tisztnek mondta el részletesen tervét, és tőlük kérte, hogy szerezzenek neki pokolgépet a tervezett merénylethez. Egy találkozón a nő még egy hátzsákot is átadott, hogy annak a méretére gyártsák le a pokolgépeket.
Az ügyészek bemutatták a bíróságon azokat az üzeneteket, amiben a merénylőjelölt kijelenti, hogy „nagyon sok embert” akar megölni, és ennek helyszínéül az anglikanizmus londoni főtemplomát, a Szent Pál-katedrálist szemelte ki, ahol annak idején Károly walesi herceg, és a néhai Diana hercegnő is megesküdött.
A vádirat szerint a nő terepszemlét is tartott, és videót is készített épületről, amit szintén elküldött az általa támogatóknak hitt titkosszolgálati ügynököknek. A videóhoz mellékelt üzenetében közölte, hogy a kupola alatt akarta felrobbantani a pokolgépet, és le akarta rombolni az egész templomot.
Safiyya Shaikh ellen a hatóságok terrorcselekmény végrehajtására tett előkészületek címén emeltek vádat, a nő pedig elismerte, hogy terrortámadás elkövetésére készült. Az ügyben várhatóan májusban születik ítélet.

A berlini Vilmos császár-emléktemplom körüli téren lévő karácsonyi vásárt, ahol 2016 decemberében terrortámadás történt, a német rendőrség szombat este kiürítette két gyanúsan viselkedő férfi miatt.
A rendőrség legfrissebb közleményében az áll, hogy a karácsonyi vásárt két
gyanúsan viselkedő férfi miatt evakuálták. Az ügyben nyilatkozó szóvivő
elmondta, hogy nem erősödött meg az a gyanú, hogy a férfiak egyikét elfogatóparancs
alapján körözik. Mint mondta, névhasonlóság miatt történt tévedés. Hozzátette,
hogy nem történt őrizetbe vétel.
Egy másik rendőrségi illetékes elmondta: figyelembe véve, hogy a helyszínen
három éve merénylet történt, a rendvédelmi szervek körültekintően reagáltak, és
ezért ürítették ki a teret.
A rendőrség korábban a Twitteren közölte, hogy a látogatók nyugodt és
rendezett körülmények között hagyták el a területet. Hozzátette, hogy átvizsgálják
a Breitscheid teret és az emléktemplom épületét.
Értesülések szerint az imaházban egy rendezvényt idő előtt kellett
abbahagyni.
