A rendőrségre este negyed nyolc körül érkezett bejelentés, mely szerint lövöldözés történt a vásár ételudvarán. A nyomozók megállapították, hogy egy férfi rálőtt egy másik férfira, és három embert meglőttek, akik nem életveszélyes sérüléseket szenvedtek – közölte a dallasi rendőrség.
A gyanúsított elmenekült a helyszínről, de a rendőrök megtalálták és letartóztatták, sőt megtalálták a lövöldözésben feltehetően használt fegyvert is.
Adam Bazaldua, a dallasi városi tanács tagja, akinek a körzetéhez tartozik a park, ahol a lövöldözés történt, üzenetet tett közzé, amelyben közölte, hogy T. C. Broadnax, Dallas városvezetője tájékoztatta őt a helyzetről.
Bazaldua szerint a lövöldözésben két ember vett részt, akik ismerték egymást.
