Korrupció gyanújával letartóztatták Takahasi Harujukit, a tavalyi tokiói olimpia szervezőbizottságának korábbi vezetőségi tagját. A japán államügyészség szerint a 78 éves sportdiplomata kenőpénzt fogadott el az Aoki Holdings cégtől.
Sajtóértesülések alapján Takahasi 45 millió jent (132 millió forint) kapott a ruhaipari konzorciumtól, miután az egyik általa vezetett cég tanácsadói szerződést kötött a főként öltönyöket gyártó Aokival, amely a nagy divatcégeket megelőzve végül általános meglepetésre megnyerte a japán olimpikonok formaruhájáért kiírt pályázatot.
Az ügy felgöngyölítését követően letartóztatták Aoki Hironorit, a vállalat korábbi ügyvezetőjét, valamint további két személyt is.
Takahasi korábban lobbistaként több millió dollárt vett fel a pályázati bizottságtól, amiért közreműködött a Nemzetközi Olimpiai Bizottság szemlebizottságának meggyőzésében, hogy a japán főváros kapja meg a nyári játékok rendezési jogát.
