 A közlemény szerint a nyomozás adatai megalapozott a gyanúra adnak okot, hogy az őrizetbe vett illetőnek köze van kézigránát robbantásához és Tzadik Nachman rabbi umanyi síremlékének meggyalázásával kapcsolatos garázda cselekmény elkövetéséhez 2016-ban, RGD–5 típusú kézigránát felrobbantásához egy cserkaszi rendőrőrs területén 2017-ben és „a vereckei magyar honfoglalási emlékmű 2017-es felrobbantásához.” A férfit a felsoroltakon kívül még nyolc törvénytelen cselekedet elkövetésével, közte kézigránátok robbantásával, zsinagóga és emlékművek meggyalázásával, nemzetiségi ellentétek szításával is gyanúsítják.
 A közlemény szerint az ügyben intézkedések történtek a nyomozás lezárására és a vádirat bíróság elé terjesztésére. A jelzett bűncselekmények elkövetésében részt vett másik két személy ellen folyik a bírósági vádeljárás.
 Mint emlékezetes, Arszen Avakov 2017. október 2-án Facebook-oldalán jelentette be, hogy Kárpátalján, az államhatár közelében elfogtak egy cserkaszi megyei bűnözőkből álló csoportot, amelyet más provokatív cselekmények elkövetése mellett a vereckei honfoglalási emlékmű felrobbantására béreltek fel – a tárcavezető állítása szerint – a Viktor Janukovics megbuktatott elnök mögött álló egykori Régiók Pártjának Oroszországba menekült vezető tisztségviselői. A miniszter azt is megírta, hogy a robbantásra készülő háromtagú bandánál elfogásukkor gázpalackhoz erősített, detonátorként szolgáló robbanószerkezetet és RGD–5 típusú kézigránátokat találtak.
