Az Egyesült Államok középső és déli államaiban már legkevesebb 25 ember vesztette életét az elmúlt szűk egy hét viharaiban és az esőzéseket követő árvizekben.
A keddi összegzés szerint az ítéletidő Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi és Kentucky államokat érintette a legnagyobb mértékben, ugyanakkor a csapadék utánpótlásának megszűnésével csökkent a veszélyhelyzet – írja az MTI.
A hétvégén kialakult súlyos árvizek elsősorban az Ohio, Mississippi és Kentucky folyók partján fekvő településeket sújtották, több helyütt kötelező kitelepítésekkel.
Donald Trump elnök katasztrófa-szükséghelyzetet hirdetett Arkansas, Tennessee és Kentucky államokra, ami pótlólagos szövetségi forrásokat és segítséget bocsát rendelkezésre a mentésre, kutatásra és kárelhárításra.
Ansy Beshear, Kentucky kormányzója hétfői sajtótájékoztatóján arra kérte az érintett területek lakóit, hogy életük védelmében várják meg, amíg a folyók teljesen visszahúzódnak. A rend fenntartásában és a mentésben részt vesznek a Nemzeti Gárda egységei is, és a hatóságok azt kérték, hogy akinek nem sürgős, nem keljen útra.

A Texastól keletre és északkeletre fekvő kiterjedt térségben múlt szerdán kezdődött a viharos időjárás, amelyben több tucat helyen alakultak ki súlyos károkat okozó tornádók is, majd a hétvégén már az áradások jelentettek veszélyt.

A brit kormány emberek millióinak küldött figyelmeztetést a mobiltelefonjára a közelgő viharról. Az időjárási vészhelyzet miatt több járatot, valamint sport- és kulturális rendezvényeket is töröltek.
Több mint 3 millió embert figyelmeztetett mobiltelefonján a brit kormány péntek este, miután a brit meteorológiai intézet Walesben és Délnyugat-Angliában is a legmagasabb szintű, vörös riasztást adta ki – írja a Sky News.
A Darragh névre keresztelt orkán rendkívül veszélyes. Az előrejelzés szerint szombat hajnalban éri el az Atlanti-óceán felől Nagy-Britannia nyugati és délnyugati vidékeit.
A vihar heves esőzéseket és 150 kilométer per órás sebességű széllökéseket is okozhat.
Wales egyes térségeiben 80-90 milliméter csapadék is hullhat néhány óra alatt. A legerősebb szélvihar a nyugati partvidéken valószínű, de a belső országrészekben is óránkénti 65-90 kilométeres szélsebességet állapítottak meg a meteorológusok.
Az Egyesült Királyság nyugati országrészére kihirdetett vörös riasztás szombat délelőtt 11 óráig – közép-európai idő szerint 12 óráig – van érvényben, míg a többi térségben a második legmagasabb, sárga riasztás van érvényben szombat estig.
A járattörlések mellett a sport- és kulturális rendezvényeket is elhalasztották
A Darragh vihar okozta erős szél miatt jelentős fennakadás várható a közlekedésben. A brit meteorológiai előrejelzés lehulló faágakra, áradásra és a repülő törmelékek okozta veszélyekre is felhívta a figyelmet. Az embereket arra kérték, hogy a biztonság érdekében kerüljék az utazást.
Az Egyesült Királyságban közlekedő vonatok és repülőjáratok többségét már pénteken törölték. A hollandiai Schiphol nemzetközi repülőtéren több mint száz járatot töröltek a Darragh viharral járó erős szél miatt.
Walesben, Dél-Angliában és Londonban a sport- és kulturális rendezvényeket is törölték. A brit fővárosban a szombati vihar idejére bezárnak karácsonyi vásárok, köztük a legnagyobb karácsonyi látványosság, a Hyde Parkban minden évben megrendezett, százezrek által látogatott Winter Wonderland is.

A rendkívüli időjárás Victoria, Új-Dél-Wales és Queensland államokat sújtotta hétfőn és kedden, jégesőt és özönvízszerű esőzéseket hozva. Az erős szél tetőszerkezeteket bontott le és fákat döntött ki a legsúlyosabban érintett területek némelyikén. Több mint 90 ezer háztartás maradt áram nélkül.
Katarina Carrol, Queensland rendőrfőnöke elmondta, hogy három ember meghalt, miután a viharban Green Island közelében felborult egy jacht 11 emberrel a fedélzetén.
Két nőt holtan találtak az állam fővárosától, Brisbane-től mintegy 180 kilométerre északra fekvő Gympie város közelében, ahol az ár elsodorta őket. Brisbane déli részén egy kilencéves kislányt halt meg, miután eltűnt egy csapadékvíz-elvezető csatornában – közölte a rendőrség.
A hatóságok arra figyelmeztettek, hogy a folyók és patakok a gyorsan emelkedő vízszint miatt eláraszthatják a kempingeket, amelyek általában zsúfoltak a karácsonyi és újévi hetekben.

Több mint 50 ezer háztartásban okoztak áramkimaradást hétfő éjjel és kedden hajnalban Nyugat-Szlovákiában a heves esőzésekkel kísért viharok – jelentette a TASR szlovák közszolgálati hírügynökség hivatalos forrásokra hivatkozva kedden.
A mintegy egyhetes forró, száraz időjárás után érkezett viharok leginkább a nyitrai és a nagyszombati megyékben okoztak fennakadásokat az áramszolgáltatásban – erősítette meg a szlovák hírügynökségnek a nyugat-szlovákiai áramszolgáltató szóvivője, aki szerint az érintett régióban kedden reggel még 4000 háztartás volt villanyáram nélkül.
Az áramszüneteket a vezetékeket megrongáló villámok, illetve a viharok által kidöntött fák miatti vezetéksérülések okozták.
Az országos tűzoltóparancsnokság (HaZZ) közlése szerint a nyugat-szlovákiai régióban az éjszaka során 112 helyszínre kellett kiszállniuk a tűzoltóknak a heves viharok okozta károk eltávolítására, írja az MTI.

Három halálos áldozatot követelt Szlovéniában, hogy az ország északkeleti és középső részén, huszonnégy óra alatt egy havi csapadékmennyiség hullott le, ezért a Polgári Védelmi és Katasztrófa-elhárítási Hivatal ezer, a rendkívüli időjárással kapcsolatos eseményt regisztrált, írja helyi forrásokra hivatkozva a Deutsche Welle.
A hét második felében lezajlott heves esőzések több helyen villámárvizeket okoztak, így a veszélyre figyelmeztető szirénák szólaltak meg Ljubljanában, Mariborban és Celjében is. Maja Adlesic rendőrségi szóvivő az AFP-nek azt mondta, hogy két külföldi turista holttestét egy hegyvidéken találták meg, egy nőét pedig egy másik elárasztott régióban.
Az országban összesen 16 ezer háztartás maradt áram nélkül, de le kellett zárni a Szlovénia északkeleti részét Ljubljanával összekötő autópályát is, az áradó folyók pedig több mint száz házat és számos hidat megrongáltak.
Marjan Sarec védelmi miniszter a helyi médiának azt mondta, hogy a helyzet súlyos, ezért a hadsereg is részt vesz a mentésben. Az STA hírügynökség jelentése szerint az ország több pontján menteni kellett a lakosságot és a kempingek vendégeit, Szlovénia középső részén, Kamnik városában pedig felszólították a helyieket, hogy maradjanak otthonaikban.
Más hírek szerint a teljes északnyugati Gorenjska régió víz alá került a hét második felében lezúduló eső következtében. Sok helyen nehezen jutottak el a mentők a bajbajutottakhoz, ezért nyilvános felhívást adtak közre a hatóságok, hogy akinek van gumicsónakja, segítsen, mert más járművel nem lehetett eljutni a mentők segítségére szoruló településekre, az utakat elzáró földcsuszamlások miatt.
Tovább vonul a vihar
A szélsőséges időjárás következményei Ausztria egyes településein is gondokat okozott. Több határátkelőt lezártak az ország és Szlovénia között, így nem lehetett közlekedni a Loibl-hágón sem. Karintia tartomány egyes településeire vezető utak szintén járhatatlanná váltak, ezért a helyi hatóságok felszólították a lakosságot, hogy ha tehetik, ne üljenek autóba.
A tartomány déli részében lévő Sankt Paul im Lavanttal falu lakói kénytelenek voltak magasabb helyekre húzódni a villámárvizek miatt, de a tűzoltók pénteken folyamatosan dolgoztak a kidőlt fák eltávolításán és az elárasztott pincék szivattyúzásán. Az egyik áramszolgáltató szerint péntek reggel körülbelül négyezer háztartásban nem volt áram.
Szakértők szerint a szélsőséges időjárás hátterében a klímaváltozás állhat, a következő napokban hasonló nehézségekre kell számítani Horvátországban és Boszniában is.

Tornádók és viharok következtében sérült meg 57 ember szombatra virradóan Németországban, főleg az északnyugati Észak-Rajna-Vesztfália tartományban – közölték a hatóságok.
A nevezett tartományban három helyen pusztított tornádó: Paderbornban, Lippstadtban és Höxter egyik kerületében, Lütmarsenben, valamint voltak heves viharok Észak-Rajna-Vesztfália más részein és más tartományokban is.
A sérülések közül 43 Paderbornban történt. Ott több ember állapota súlyos, egyé pedig életveszélyes, őt helikopterrel a bielefeldi kórházba szállították.
Bajorországban 14-en sérültek meg, köztük több iskolás gyerek egy faházban.
Számos fa kidől, anyagi kár keletkezett főleg épületekben, és a vihar után jelentős mennyiségű törmeléket és szemetet kell eltakarítani – közölte a rendőrség.
