Légi mutatványa közben egy tóba zuhant és megsérült a dél-franciaországi Biscarrose-ban a francia „légdeszkás” Franky Zapata – számolt be róla vasárnap a BBC hírportálja.
Zapata egy kiállításon vett részt, ahol házilag gyártott légdeszkájával a levegőbe emelkedett, elveszítette uralmát találmánya felett, és mintegy 15 méteres magasságból a Biscarosse-tóba csapódott. Kórházba szállították, a hatóságok szerint jól gyógyul.
Az egykori jetskibajnok azután vált híressé, hogy 2019-ben találmányán repülve átkelt a La Manche csatorna fölött. A közösségi médiára feltöltött videófelvételeken látható, ahogy Zapata pörögve a levegőbe emelkedik sugárhajtású eszköze segítségével, majd láthatóan elveszti irányítását a jármű felett, és a tóba zuhan.
A Sud Ouest francia portál arról számolt be, hogy a 40 éves férfi eszméleténél volt, amikor a mentőszolgálat kihalászta a vízből. A hatóságok később azt mondták az újságíróknak, hogy jók a reflexei, a kórházban megfigyelés alatt tartják.
A francia média által repülő embernek becézett Zapatának a hétvégén többször is fel kellett volna lépnie, de Hélene Larrezet, Biscarosse polgármestere a helyi médiának azt mondta, hogy a baleset miatt lemondták a fellépését.
A légdeszka, vagyis flyboard, amelyet Zapata maga tervezett, épített és vezet, egyfajta sugárhajtású szörfdeszka, amelyet négy mikroturbina hajt, és akár óránkénti 140 kilométeres sebességre is képes.
2019-ben jelentős figyelmet kapott, miután részt vett francia nemzeti ünnep párizsi felvonulásán, és futurisztikus járművén a katonai parádén részt vevők felett lebegett és repült.
Három héttel később átkelt a La Manche-csatorna felett, a 35,4 kilométeres távolságot mindössze 22 perc alatt teljesítette. Egy héttel korábban az üzemanyagfeltöltéssel kapcsolatos nehézségek miatt első próbálkozásra kudarca fulladt Zapata csatornaátkelési kísérlete. Teljesítményét később őrültségnek nevezte.

A 37 éves áldozat három barátjával ment a kilátópontra, ahol elváltak, majd ők értesítették a hatóságokat, amikor a férfi nem tért vissza hozzájuk.
„Egész nap túrázni voltak, ezután húzódtak be a panorámakabinba, ahol alkoholt fogyasztottak. A 37 éves áldozat egyszer elhagyta a helyiséget, nem tudni, miért. 22.30-kor értesítettek minket arról, hogy a férfi nem tért vissza. Két gyergyószentmiklósi csapattal indultunk a keresésére és meg is találtuk lezuhanva. Nem tudjuk, miért ment oda, ahonnan leesett, vagy mit akart, vélhetően az alkoholfogyasztás és a figyelmetlenség okozta a bajt. Nagyon nehéz eset volt, mert lefelé nem tudtuk lehozni, vissza kellett húznunk. Tíz hegyimentő közreműködésére volt szükség ahhoz, hogy kiemeljük onnan. Mintegy 80 métert zuhant” – nyilatkozta Fekete Örs.
„Ha nem tiszteljük a hegyeket, ez történik. Ha felmegyünk és alkoholt fogyasztunk, figyelmetlenek vagyunk, sajnos ez történik. Megcsúszott. A havas, jeges terepen nagyon figyelmesnek kell lennünk, különösen akkor, ha szakadék közelében járunk. Ő nem volt figyelmes, ivott… Nem is tudom, mit keresett ott, abban az irányban nem lett volna semmi keresnivalója” – magyarázta a Hargita megyei hegyimentők vezetője.
Hozzátette, hogy nem tudják lezárni a hegyeket, azonban nem véletlenül tették ki a figyelmeztető táblákat, amelyeket tiszteletben tartva megelőzhetők lehetnének ezek a balesetek – írja a Maszol.ro.

Másfél kilométert zuhant és szörnyethalt egy bolgár hegymászó Pakisztánban a világ második legmagasabb hegycsúcsa, a 8611 méteres K2 megmászására tett veszélyes kísérlet közben.
A 42 éves Atanasz Szkatov mintegy 7000 méteres magasságból, egy kötélcsere közben zuhant a mélybe pénteken. Holttestét körülbelül 5500 méteres magasságból vitte le a pakisztáni hadsereg helikoptere – közölték az expedíció szervezői.
Néhány héten belül ez már a második tragédia a Himalája egyik hegységében, a Karakorumban lévő K2-n, amely a világ legveszélyesebb hegycsúcsának számít, különösen a téli szezonban.
Januárban Sergi Mingote 49 éves spanyol hegymászó zuhant a mélybe a csúcs megmászására készülődve. A pénteken szerencsétlenül járt bolgár alpinista egyébként már feladta a csúcsmászási tervét, lefelé tartott, amikor lezuhant.
A Kína és Pakisztán határán emelkedő K2 már több mint 80 emberéletet követelt, miközben a csúcsot elérő hegymászók száma csak 450-hez közelít.
