У суботу пожежникам вдалося приборкати лісові пожежі на острові Саламіна, розташованому на захід від Афін і за 30 кілометрів на схід від столиці.

На півдні Фінляндії правоохоронці здійснили обшук на приватному острові російського олігарха, який перебуває під санкціями. Точний мотив проведення поліцейської операції в маєтку мільярдера поки що не розкривається.
Національний орган виконавчої влади Фінляндії звернувся до поліції з проханням про допомогу в операції із захоплення острова, що належить Ігорю Кесаєву, повідомило фінське державне ЗМІ YLE. 57-річний олігарх не другорядний гравець у росії. Як власник групи «Меркурі» Кесаєв є провідним російським оптовим продавцем тютюнових виробів, а також володіє збройовими заводами і мережею магазинів. Вважається, що він має тісні зв’язки з російською Федеральною службою безпеки (ФСБ) і ГРУ, службою військової розвідки.
З цих причин Європейський Союз, Канада та Великобританія запровадили санкції проти Кесаєва у квітні минулого року, а Сполучені Штати – у травні. Його арештовану 51-метрову супер-яхту американська брокерська фірма виставила на продаж за колосальні 29,5 мільйона доларів США.
Острів Котасаарі на озері Пуумала, приблизно за 120 кілометрів від фінсько-російського прикордонного переходу в Паріккала, досі належить Кешаю. Новину про обшук на острові та його захоплення правоохоронцями підтвердив YLE керівник спеціального підрозділу національної виконавчої влади.
Під час обшуку судові виконавці шукали майно, яке підпадає під санкції та підлягає конфіскації, а також слідчі матеріали. Для виконання цього завдання відомство звернулося за допомогою до поліції Східної Фінляндії, повідомив Акі Віртанен. Однак він відмовився надати будь-які інші подробиці, зокрема про те, чи пов’язана ця операція з санкціями проти росії.

Однак вертолітний майданчик, що з’явився поруч з ними, застав раду зненацька, оскільки не був внесений до початкового плану й тому не отримав дозволу на будівництво.
Минулого року Національне агентство з виконання законів Фінляндії заарештувало три російські приватні літаки.

Група, яка складалася з двох чоловіків та однієї жінки, повідомила, що випливли на цей острів після аварії корабля. Вони також повідомили, що харчувалися кокосовими горіхами.
