Влада Сальвадору оголосила червоний рівень тривоги та надзвичайну ситуацію через тропічний шторм „Пілар”. Про це повідомляє УНН із посиланням на інформацію Reuters.
За прогнозами синоптиків, тропічний шторм може торкнутися Сальвадору і південної Гватемали у найближчу добу.
Обсерваторія загроз Міністерства навколишнього середовища та природних ресурсів Сальвадору (MARN) попередила про високу ймовірність міських повеней і раптових повеней, а також зсувів, падіння дерев і гілок.
Уряд оголосив найвищий за чотири ступеневою шкалою «червоний» рівень небезпеки та призупинив заняття.
Указ уряду Сальвадору також надає повноваження місцевому управлінню цивільного захисту щодо заходів обов’язкової евакуації населення із „використанням необхідних механізмів примусу з метою захисту права на життя”.

У східній частині Сальвадору, що в Центральній Америці, почалося виверження вулкана. Місцева влада попередила населення про небезпеку.
Центр моніторингу міністерства екології країни повідомив про вибухи в центральному кратері вулкана Чапарастік, який знаходиться приблизно за 135 км на схід від столиці Сан-Сальвадор. Інтенсивність виверження вулкана була оцінена на 1 за шкалою від 0 до 8.
Виверження почалося в неділю, коли вулкан викинув камінь і попіл на територію навколо кратера. Про потерпілих наразі інформації немає.
Луїс Алонсо Амая, очільник управління з надзвичайних ситуацій, повідомив, що три населені пункти перебувають у стані готовності до евакуації.
Влада підготувала 26 центрів розміщення, які можуть вмістити понад десять тисяч людей. Також був створений командний центр для надання оперативної інформації про активність вулкана.
