 За даними агенції, із середи, 10 червня, майже 200 людей пройшли лікування у зв’язку з блювотою, болями у шлунку та діареєю після вживання алкоголю із додаванням метанолу в районі Каллакурічі (Kallakurichi).
 Зазначається, що співробітники правоохоронних органів, які займаються розслідуванням інциденту, затримали сімох осіб.
 Правоохоронці вилучили 200 літрів сурогатного напою. Також відсторонено від роботи щонайменше 10 посадовців, зокрема районного інспектора і начальника поліції.
 Смерть від нелегального алкоголю є поширеним явищем в Індії, де бідні верстви населення не можуть дозволити собі купувати ліцензійні напої, йдеться в матеріалі.
