A jól látható figyelmeztetések ellenére egy turista megengedte gyermekének, hogy egy aknamezőn talált robbanószerkezetet magához vegyen. Az akna felrobbant, a kilencéves gyermek pedig elhunyt, az apát letartóztatták.
Robbanószerkezettől halt megy egy kilencéves cseh gyerek Horvátországban, az apát letartóztatták közbiztonság elleni súlyos bűncselekmény vádjával – közölte pénteken a Zára (Zadar) megyei rendőrség.
A 46 éves férfi és családja turistaként tartózkodott az országban. Szerdán ellátogattak Knin környékére, ahol a tiltások és a szemmel jól látható angol és horvát nyelvű veszélyt jelző táblák ellenére bementek egy aknamezőre. A kilencéves gyerek talált egy robbanószerkezetet, amelyet magával vitt, az apa pedig személyesen tette be a gépkocsijukba.
Nem sokkal később az autó meghibásodása miatt leálltak az út szélén, a gyerek pedig kivette a kocsiból a robbanószerkezetet, amely abban a pillanatban aktiválódott.
A robbanás következtében a gyerek a helyszínen életét vesztette, két nő súlyosan, egy férfi pedig könnyebben megsérült. A rendőrség azonnal nyomozást indított az ügyben. A helyszínen talált maradványokat szakértői vizsgálatra Zágrábba küldték, hogy megállapítsák a robbanótest típusát és aktiválódásának lehetséges okát.
Az apa ellen vádat emeltek, és bíróság elé állítják – közölte a rendőrség. A horvát aknamentesítő központ adatai szerint az 1990-es évek első felében dúló délszláv polgárháborúból visszamaradt aknagyanús területek nagy részét már megtisztították. Még négy megyében – 22 város és járás területén – mintegy 82 négyzetkilométernyi területet kell átvizsgálni, és 9800 aknát kell hatástalanítani, nagyrészt azokon a területeken, ahol intenzív harcok folytak a délszláv háború alatt.
Az országban 3600 tábla hívja fel a figyelmet az aláaknázott területekre.
Horvátország 1997-ben az elsők között írta alá az ottawai egyezményt, amely tiltja a gyalogsági aknák gyártását, kereskedelmét és telepítését, valamint előírja az aknakészletek megsemmisítését és az aknamezők felszámolását.

Ukrajna területének több mint 25%-a robbanásveszélyes. A védelmi erők és az aknamentesítési szervek munkájának köszönhetően ezen területek 156 ezer négyzetkilométert tesznek ki a kezdeti 174 ezer helyett – közölte Szerhij Reva, a katasztrófa-elhárítás humanitárius aknamentesítésért felelős részlegének vezetője.

Az előzetes adatok szerint az ország kilenc megyéjében (Dnyipropetrovszk, Zaporizzsja, Kijev, Szumi, Harkiv, Herszon, Csernyihiv, Cserkaszi) összesen 470 854 hektárnyi földterületet kell átvizsgálni.
Jelenleg Ukrajna területének csaknem egyharmada alá van aknázva – közölte Ihor Klimenko ukrán belügyminiszter egy interjúban.
„Ma Ukrajna területének 30%-a alá van aknázva. A felszabadított területekre és a jelenleg ideiglenesen megszállt területekre gondolok” – mondta Klimenko.
Hozzátette, hogy minél tovább tartózkodik az ellenség a területünkön, annál nehezebb az aknamentesítés kérdése, hiszen annál több időbe kerül.
