 Трамп ініціював відновлення та значне розширення в’язниці Алькатрас для утримання найжорстокіших злочинців.
 “Занадто довго Америка страждала від жорстоких, насильницьких і повторних злочинців, покидьків суспільства, які не здатні принести нічого, крім страждань і горя. Коли ми були серйознішою нацією, у минулі часи, ми не вагалися ізолювати найнебезпечніших злочинців і тримати їх далеко від тих, кому вони могли б завдати шкоди. Саме так і має бути”, – написав Трамп.
 Президент США доручив Федеральному бюро в’язниць, Міністерству юстиції, ФБР та Міністерству внутрішньої безпеки розпочати роботу над проєктом. Він підкреслив, що новий Алькатрас стане чітким сигналом повернення до політики закону та порядку.
 Глава держави також розкритикував суддів, які, на його думку, бояться виконувати свою роботу, дозволяючи злочинцям залишатися на свободі. Трамп додав, що цей крок допоможе зробити Америку знову великою.
