India három hadihajót küld az Arab-tengerre egy kereskedelmi hajót ért dróntámadás nyomán, elrettentés gyanánt – közölte kedden az indiai haditengerészet.
A libériai zászló alatt hajózó Chem Pluto nevű olajat és vegyianyagot szállító tankert szombaton érte támadás mintegy 370 kilométerre az indiai partoktól. A legénységnek sikerült eloltania a keletkezett tüzet, áldozatok nem voltak.
A történteket követően az indiai parti őrség Mumbai kikötőjébe kísérte a tankert, amely Szaúd-Arábiából szállított nyersolajat a dél-indiai Mangaluruba – ismertette a védelmi minisztérium Újdelhiben. India még mindig nagyban támaszkodik a közel-keleti olajszállítmányokra dacára annak, hogy az ukrajnai háború óta nagyobb mennyiségben vásárol az energiahordozóból Oroszországtól is.
Rádzs Nath Szingh védelmi miniszter, akit a helyi PTI hírügynökség idézett, hangsúlyozta, hogy vizsgálatot indítottak annak kiderítésére, ki a felelős a támadásért. Az amerikai védelmi minisztérium Iránt vádolja a történtekért, az iráni külügyi tárca azonban visszautasította ezeket a vádakat.
A gázai övezeti háború kirobbanása óta a teheráni vezetés hátszelét élvező jemeni húszi lázadók fokozták támadásaikat kereskedelmi és hadihajók ellen a Vörös-tengeren. Szombaton az iráni Forradalmi Gárda egyik tábornoka figyelmeztette az Egyesült Államokat és a Nyugatot, hogy további nemzetközi hajózási útvonalakat blokkolhatnak.

Pilóta nélküli légi jármű talált el egy izraeli kötődésű kereskedelmi hajót az Arab-tengeren, India nyugati partjainál, a támadás tüzet okozott – közölte szombaton az Ambrey nevű, hajózási biztonsággal foglalkozó brit magáncég szombaton.
Az incidens az indiai Veravaltól 200 kilométerre délnyugatra történt. A libériai lobogó alatt közlekedő vegyianyag-szállító tartályhajón a tüzet eloltották, kisebb szerkezeti károk keletkeztek, a legénység egyik tagja sem sebesült meg.
Az elmúlt időszakban az Irán által támogatott jemeni húszi lázadók több rakéta- és dróntámadást hajtottak végre Vörös-tengeren haladó, izraeli kötődésű vagy oda tartó hajók ellen, amit azzal indokoltak, hogy ezzel a palesztinok ügyét támogatják.

Hatalmas fogása volt az amerikai haditengerészetnek az Arab-tengeren, jelentős fegyverszállítmányt sikerült lefoglalni.
A zászló nélküli hajón főként kínai és orosz gyártmányú gépkarabélyok, páncéltörők, mesterlövészpuskák és egyéb fegyverek voltak fellelhetők, amelyek feltehetően Jemenbe, a huszi lázadókhoz tartottak – adta hírül az AP hírügynökség.
A hírügynökségnek nyilatkozó amerikai védelmi forrás szerint a hadihajó Iránból indult, így az iszlám köztársaság ismételten megpróbálta megszegni az ENSZ által elrendelte fegyverembargót. Teherán tagadta a vádakat, állításuk szerint nem küldtek semmilyen fegyvert Jemenbe.
A USS Monterrey rutinellenőrzése során bukkantak a fegyvereket szállító hajóra, a legénységet pedig ki is hallgatták nem sokkal ezt követően, majd elengedték őket. A szállított fegyvereket a fedélzet alatt, zöld műanyagba csomagolva találták meg.
Az elmúlt idők során nem egy alkalommal kapcsoltak le Jemenbe, elsősorban a huszi lázadóknak küldött fegyverszállítmányt, amely viszont nemzetközi jogot sért. A terrorszervezet ugyanis évek óta, iráni támogatással háborút folytat a központ kormány ellen.
A Jemenben kitört polgárháború jóformán Szaúd-Arábia és Irán proxiháborújává vált és a világ legsúlyosabb humanitárius katasztrófáját idézte elő. A fegyveripar is táplálja a konfliktust, ugyanis hatalmas fegyverszállítmányok szoktak érkezni a konfliktusos országba.
