Amal Clooney emberi jogi ügyvéd szerepet vállalt a Nemzetközi Büntetőbíróság (ICC) vizsgálatában, amely Benjámin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnök ellen indult. Olaszországi sajtójelentések szerint emiatt az Egyesült Államok szankciókat fontolgat ellene. A hírek szerint George Clooney brit állampolgárságú felesége nemcsak az Egyesült Államokba irányuló beutazási tilalomra számíthat, hanem a vagyonát is befagyaszthatják.
A Financial Times korábban arról számolt be, hogy a brit külügyminisztérium több, a büntetőbíróságnak dolgozó jogászt is figyelmeztetett arra, hogy büntetőintézkedésekkel nézhetnek szembe.
Az érintettek között szerepel Amal Clooney mellett Adrian Fulford egykori bíró, valamint Danny Friedman is a brit ügyvédi kamarából. Donald Trump február 6-án írta alá azt a rendeletet, amely lehetőséget ad a Nemzetközi Büntetőbírósággal (ICC) együttműködő külföldi állampolgárok szankcionálására. A dokumentumban Karim Khan, az ICC főügyészének neve is szerepel, és 60 napos határidőt szabtak a további szankciós javaslatok kidolgozására.
Bár a határidő április 7-én lejárt, újabb szankciókat hivatalosan még nem jelentettek be. Ennek ellenére a Financial Times szerint a brit kormány megalapozottnak tartja azokat az információkat, amelyek szerint Amal Clooney is a lehetséges célpontok között szerepel.
A Nemzetközi Büntetőbíróság 2024 novemberében adott ki elfogatóparancsot Benjamin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnök, volt védelmi minisztere, valamint a Hamász több tisztviselője ellen a Gázai övezetben elkövetett háborús bűncselekmények vádjával.

Egy videó kezdett el terjedni a közösségi médiában, amelyen az látható, hogy egy maszkot viselő férfi kalapáccsal nekiesik Benjámin Netanjahu szobrának Mexikóváros viaszmúzeumában.
A politikai aktivista előbb vörös festékkel leöntötte, majd nagy erővel kezdte el verni az izraeli miniszterelnök fejét, végül felborította a tönkretett viaszszobrot a világ több egykori és jelenlegi vezetőjének a társaságában. Az esetet „testközelből nézte végig” a brit királyi család, miközben a férfi azt kiabálta, hogy „éljen Palesztina, Szudán, Jemen és Puerto Rico”.

Benjamin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnök a Gázai övezetben tett keddi látogatásán megismételte, hogy ötmillió dollárt kap és szabadon elhagyhatja az övezetet, aki átad egy izraeli túszt a zsidó államnak.
„Azoknak is mondom, akik ki akarnak szabadulni ebből az útvesztőből: aki túszt hoz nekünk, az a családjával együtt biztonságos útvonalon kijut. Minden elraboltért ötmillió dollár jutalmat is adunk” – mondta Netanjahu, miután kijelentette, hogy hamarosan több tucatnyian fognak kiszabadulni a fogságból.
Netanjahu kedden Jiszrael Katz védelmi miniszterrel, Herci Halevi vezérkari főnökkel és Ronen Barral, a Sin Bet belbiztonsági szolgálat főnökével tett látogatást az övezet középső részén, a Necer folyósón, ahol áttekintést nyújtott nekik egy kilátóhelyen Joáv Brunner vezérőrnagy, az ott működő kilencvenkilences hadosztály parancsnoka és Jaron Finkelman, a déli parancsnokság főtisztje.
„A Hamász nem fogja uralni Gázát. Figyelemre méltó módon felszámoljuk katonai képességeit, és áttérünk még meglévő kormányzati képességeinek megszüntetésére. Nem lesz Hamász Gázában” – mondta Netanjahu.
„Itt és mindenütt erőfeszítéseket teszünk túszaink megtalálására és visszajuttatására. Nem mondunk le erről. Addig folytatjuk, amíg megszerezzük mindannyiukat, az élőket és a holtakat is”‒ ígérte a miniszterelnök.
„Azt üzenem túszaink fogva tartóinak, hogy halál fia, aki ártani merészel túszainknak. Üldözni fogjuk, és elkapjuk őket”‒ tette hozzá.
A Hamász tavaly október 7-én, Izraelből elhurcolt 251 túsza közül 97-en vannak Gázában, közülük legkevesebb 34-nek már csak a holttestét őrzik az iszlamisták az izraeli hadsereg becslése szerint. Mellettük fogva tartanak két izraeli civilt, aki 2014-ben és 2015-ben önszántából lépett be az övezetbe, valamint két, 2014-ben meggyilkolt izraeli katona holttestét.

Szombaton két villanóbomba csapódott be Benjámin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnök észak-izraeli, cezáreai házának kertjébe. A rendőrség közleménye szerint sem a kormányfő, sem a családtagjai nem tartózkodtak a helyszínen az incidens idején, és anyagi kár sem keletkezett.
Az izraeli miniszterelnök, Benjámin Netanjahu cezáreai otthonát ért támadás újabb feszültséget keltett az országban.
A biztonsági szervek vizsgálatot indítottak az ügyben, miközben a politikai vezetők elítélték az incidenst. Az eset rávilágít az Izraelben uralkodó feszült belpolitikai helyzetre és a régióban tapasztalható biztonsági kihívásokra. Isaac Herzog államfő elítélte a történteket, és bejelentette, hogy vizsgálat indult az ügyben.
Ez nem az első alkalom, hogy Netanjahu cezáreai otthonát támadás éri. Októberben egy drónt indítottak a ház felé, de az sem okozott kárt. A mostani incidensért egyelőre senki nem vállalta a felelősséget.

A libanoni radikális síita milícia, a Hezbollah vállalta magára kedden az izraeli miniszterelnök rezidenciája elleni szombati dróntámadást.
A libanoni főváros, Bejrút egyik déli külvárosában tartott sajtótájékoztatóján Mohammad Afif médiakapcsolati vezető a szervezet nevében teljeskörű felelősséget vállalt „a háborús bűnös Netanjahu ellen intézett cézáreai akcióért”; hozzátéve, hogy „noha ezúttal nem sikerült őt eltalálni, a következő napokban lesz még erre lehetőség”.
Afif elismerte, hogy a síita szervezet harcosai közül többen is izraeli fogságba estek, de pontos számukról nem tett említést, és arra kérte a Vöröskereszt Nemzetközi Bizottságát (ICRC) hogy próbáljon utánanézni, életben vannak-e az említett hadifoglyok.
Elmondta azt is, hogy szervezete meg fogja téríteni azon betétesek anyagi kárát, akik abban a pénzintézetben tartották megtakarításaikat, amelynek több libanoni bankfiókja is elpusztult az izraeli légitámadásokban.
Az izraeli hadsereg közlése szerint a Hezbollah tucatnyi rakétát és több drónt lőtt ki múlt szombaton Észak-Izraelre, amelyek közül az egyik Benjámin Netanjahu miniszterelnök cézáreai hétvégi házát vette célba. Letartóztattak egy izraeli férfit, akit a gyanú szerint az iráni titkosszolgálat bérelt fel Benjámin Netanjahu meggyilkolására. A bérgyilkos célpontjai között szerepelhetett még Yoav Gallant védelmi miniszter és a Shin Bet titkosszolgálatok vezetője, Ronan Bar is.
Az izraeli hírszerzés szerint a férfi kétszer járt Iránban, ahol küldetéseket bíztak rá, valamint előleget is felvett a megbízásokért. A gyanúsított Törökországban élt, török kapcsolatai segítségével jutott át Iránba, hogy találkozzon a megbízóival.
A hírszerzés azt közölte, hogy a férfit még augusztusban fogták el, a személyazonosságát viszont nem hozták nyilvánosságra. A gyanúsított áprilisban és májusban is a törökországi Samandagban járt, ahol egy gazdag iráni üzletemberrel kellett volna találkoznia, akire az iratokban csak Eddie-ként hivatkoznak. Az eddigi információk szerint Eddie egyik alkalommal sem tudta elhagyni Iránt, így végül az izraelit csempészték át a határon – írta meg a BBC.
Ezzel bízták meg a bérgyilkost
Az első iráni találkozón az izraeli olyan feladatokat kapott Eddie-től, mint pénz és fegyverek szállítása, Izraelen belül zsúfolt közterek fényképezése, illetve az Izraelben élő alvó ügynökök felkeresése.
A második iráni találkozón az iráni titkosszolgálat ügynökei azt a feladatot adták az izraelinek, hogy ölje meg Benjámin Netanjahut, Yoav Gallantot és Ronen Bart. A gyilkosságokat terrorakcióknak kellett volna álcázni. A támadások a Hamász vezére, Iszmail Hanije meggyilkolására küldött válaszok lettek volna.
Az izraeli hírszerzés szerint a bérgyilkos egymillió dollár előleget akart a vezetők meggyilkolásáért.
Az eddigi nyomozás alapján a hatóságok arra következtetnek, hogy hasonló merényleteket tervezhettek Európában és az Egyesült Államokban is. Az iráni titkosszolgálat állítólag azon dolgozott, hogy Moszad-ügynököket szervezzenek be kettős ügynöknek céljaik elérése érdekében.
Az izraeli a találkozókon 5600 dollárt kaphatott.
A Shin Bet egy magas rangú tisztviselője azt közölte, hogy Irán mindent megtesz, hogy izraeli állampolgárokat állítson a maga oldalára, és terroristát csináljon belőlük.

Három hónapig tartó szünet után folytatódott hétfőn Benjamin Netanjahu volt izraeli miniszterelnök, a jobboldali Likud párt elnöke, a parlamenti ellenzék vezetője korrupciós perének tárgyalása – jelentette az izraeli média.
A jeruzsálemi körzeti bíróság hétfői tárgyalási napján folytatják az első tanú, Ilan Jesua, a Walla hírportál volt igazgatója meghallgatását, illetve az angolszász bírósági gyakorlatot követő, keresztkérdéses tanúmeghallgatását.
Jesua a legsúlyosabb vádpontnak tekintett 4000-es aktában, a Walla hírportál korrupt médiabefolyásolási ügyében tanúskodik. Az ügyészség vádirata szerint a volt kormányfő és családja a kéréseivel és követeléseivel éveken át rendszeresen befolyásolta az akkoriban legnépszerűbb portál hírközlését, cserébe Netanjahu gazdasági kedvezményeket adott a hírportál tulajdonosának, az Elovics házaspárnak.
A volt kormányfő az ügyészség szerint ezen ügyletekben visszaélt hivatalával, amikor 2014 és 2017 között miniszterelnökként és hírközlési miniszterként is szolgált.
Jesua megőrizte, majd átadta a rendőrségnek az Elovics családtól kapott utasításokat és kéréseket, amelyek a miniszterelnöktől és közvetlen környezetétől származtak, és amelyekben olykor azt is leírták, hogy milyen gazdasági előnyök függtek a kérések teljesítésétől.
A The Times of Israel című angol nyelvű hírportál szerint a Netanjahu védelmét ellátó ügyvédek annak bemutatásával próbálják aláásni a tanú vallomását, hogy Jesua más politikusok és üzletemberek számára is megjelentetett őket kedvező fényben bemutató újságcikkeket, és ez szerintük azt mutatja, hogy Netanjahu nem részesült előnyben a hírportálon.
Jesua korábban már befejezte tanúvallomását, de a védelem kérésére a bíróság elrendelte mobiltelefonjának és e-mail fiókjának újabb átnézését, mert a védelem megpróbálta az új üzenetekkel megmutatni, hogy a Walla igazgatója nemcsak Netanjahu és családtagjai, hanem mások kéréseit is teljesítette.
Netanjahu védőügyvédje szerint a felfedezett új anyagok jelentős és kiterjedt információkat hordoznak számos politikusról és közéleti személyiségről, akik kapcsolatban álltak a Walla szerkesztőségével.
Az ügyészség szerint viszont a vádlottak kérésére lefolytatott vizsgálattal megszerzett új anyagok nem változtatják meg az ügyészség álláspontját, és nem befolyásolják a bizonyítékokat.

A legsúlyosabb, akár tíz év börtönbüntetési tétellel sújtható vádpont a volt kormányfő ügyében a megvesztegetés a Bezeq telekommunikációs óriásvállalat főrészvényesével, Saul Eloviccsal folytatott ügyletek miatt.
Először fordult elő Izrael történelmében, hogy hivatalban lévő miniszterelnököt vesztegetéssel vádoltak, ráadásul a hivatali ideje alatt elkövetett korrupció miatt. Ehud Olmertet, a Netanjahu előtti kormányfőt korrupcióért börtönbüntetésre ítélték, de ő már a nyomozás alatt lemondott, és miniszterelnöki kinevezése előtt követett el törvénytelenségeket.
Benjamin Netanjahu tagadja, hogy bármilyen jogsértést követett el, és azt állítja, hogy az ellene felhozott vádak koholtak, politikai puccskísérlet áldozata, amelyben részes a helyi média, a rendőrség és az ügyészség is.

Kormányellenes tüntetés volt Nyugat-Jeruzsálemben szombaton, több ezren demonstráltak Benjamin „Bibi” Netanjahu miniszterelnök otthona előtt és az akörüli utcákban. A tömegnek elege van a Netanjahu vezette kormányból. Három nap múlva két éven belül negyedszer lesznek választások Izraelben.
Az izraeli sajtó beszámolói szerint a tegnapi az elmúlt év összes kormányellenes tüntetésénél nagyobb volt, mintegy 20 000 ember gyűlt össze.
A várakozások szerint ismét Netanjahu pártja, a jobboldali Likud kapja majd a legtöbb szavazatot március 23-án, de valószínűleg nem lesz többségük a parlamentben és a kormányalakításhoz sem lesz elegendő szavazatuk. Ez az előző három választáson is ugyanígy történt.
Netanjahu ellen épp korrupció miatt folyik per (a vádak közt megvesztegetés és csalás is szerepel), és kritikusai szerint a koronavírus-járványt is rosszul kezelte.
A 71 éves miniszterelnök viszont abban reménykedik, hogy a gyors oltási kampány, aminek köszönhetően Izrael már nagyjából teljesen újra tudott nyitni, illetve a több arab országgal kötött normalizációs megállapodások sora elég lesz ahhoz, hogy a Likud többséget szerezzen a parlamentben. (Reuters)

Az izraeli miniszterelnök ellen tavaly nyújtott be a főügyész vádiratot csalás, közhivatallal visszaélés és korrupció vádjával, melyek első tárgyalási napját tavaly májusban tartották, a hétfőire hosszú halasztás után került sor.
Megkezdődött, de az eljárás újabb elhalasztásával véget is ért Benjámin Netanjahu izraeli miniszterelnök korrupciós perének első érdemi tárgyalása Jeruzsálemben hétfőn, másfél hónappal a közelgő parlamenti választások előtt – jelentette hétfőn a 12-es kereskedelmi tévé.
A bírók úgy döntöttek, hogy helyt adnak a kormányfő védelmét ellátó ügyvédek panaszának, és külön tárgyalási napot iktatnak be annak megvitatására, hogy a rendőrség nyomozói a megfelelő főügyészi jóváhagyás birtokában kezdték-e meg munkájukat.
Csak ennek eldöntése után tűzik majd ki a bizonyítási szakasz kezdetét, ami azt jelenti, hogy a vád tanúvallomásait csak a március 23-i újabb választások után ismerhetik meg az izraeliek. A kormányfő védelmét ellátó ügyvédek a bizonyítási szakasz 3-4 hónapos elnapolását kérték.
A hétfői tárgyalást is már többszöri halasztás után rendezték meg, korábban januárra tűzték ki, majd az országos járványügyi zárlat miatt változtatták február 8-ra az időpontot. Az izraeli miniszterelnök ellen tavaly nyújtott be a főügyész vádiratot csalás, közhivatallal visszaélés és korrupció vádjával, az első tárgyalási napot tavaly májusban tartották.
Netanjahu ezúttal egyedül, az általa vezetett Likud párt politikusainak kísérete nélkül érkezett a bíróság épületéhez. Az első, tavalyi tárgyalási napon a 12-es kereskedelmi televízió szakértői szerint többet ártott, mint használt az az Izraelben híressé vált fotó, amely alapján többen maffiafőnökhöz hasonlították a politikust, ahogy párttársaival a háta mögött a bíróságot ostorozta.
Benjámin Netanjahut most nemcsak a bíróság épületénél várták az ellene tüntetők, korábban már a miniszterelnöki rezidencia Balfour utcai épületénél is vörös szőnyeget terítettek le az utcán a kormányfő számára a bíróság felé vezető úton. Július közepe óta a „Crime Minister”, valamint a „feketezászlós mozgalom” vezetésével minden szombaton tüntetők ezrei követelik a távozását, mert szerintük addig nem vezetheti az országot, amíg nem tisztázta magát a vádak alól.
Hétfőn a kormányfő mellett megjelentek vádlott-társai is, a Jediót Ahronót című újság tulajdonosa, Moni Mózesz, valamint a Bezeq kommunikációs nagyvállalat főrészvényese, Saul Elovics és felesége, Irisz Elovics. Miután tagadta az ellene felhozott vádakat, Netanjahu megkapta a bírók engedélyét a távozásra, s a nap további részében ügyvédei képviselték őt.
A kormányfő új vezető ügyvédje, Boáz Ben Cur megpróbálta töröltetni a Netanjahu elleni vádak legalább egy részét, arra hivatkozva, hogy szerinte a rendőrség hatáskörét túllépve nyomozott védence ellen, és olyan vádakat is felhoztak ellene, amelyekkel kapcsolatban nem is kérdezték ki.
A 12-es TV szakértője, Gaj Peleg szerint Netanjahu számára elsősorban a Walla hírportál volt főszerkesztőjének tanúvallomása lehetett volna kellemetlen a választási kampány finisében, mert a főszerkesztő elmondaná, miként befolyásolta a Netanjahu család a hírportál tartalmát.
Vasárnap Netanjahu két videóüzenetet tett közzé, melyekben azt hangoztatta, hogy politikai okokból boszorkányüldözést folytatnak ellene, és a rendőrségen, majd az ügyészségen is „aktákat gyártottak” befeketítésére. A bíróságon azonban teljes mértékben tisztelettudóan viselkedett, s szakértők szerint várhatóan továbbra is ez a kettősség jellemzi majd üzeneteit: egyrészt a törvényszéken a teljes normakövetés, másrészt a bíróság falain kívül a jogi eljárás megkérdőjelezése.
Izrael történetében először áll bíróság előtt hivatalban lévő miniszterelnök. Ehud Olmert kormányfőt is törvény elé állították, majd elítélték korrupció vádjával, de ő már a nyomozati szakaszban távozott tisztségéből.

„Megerősítem a nevemben benyújtott írásbeli választ” – jelentette ki Netanjáhú február 8-án egy jeruzsálemi bíróságon.
A 12 éve hatalmon lévő elnök arra a dokumentumra utalt, amelyet ügyvédei juttattak el a bírósághoz és amelyben azt állítják, hogy Netanjáhú nem bűnös vesztegetés, bizalommal való visszaélés és csalás vádjában.
Netanjáhút többek között azzal vádolják, hogy gazdag barátaitól pazar ajándékokat fogadott el és részt vett a média befolyásolásában úgy, hogy kedvező tudósítás fejében a média szabályozásával kapcsolatos szívességeket ajánlott fel egyes médiamogulok számára.

Két éven belül negyedszerre tartanak parlamenti választásokat Izraelben
A tárgyalások kilenc hónappal ezelőtt kezdődtek, de a koronavírus okozta lezárások miatt elhúzódtak.
Netanjáhú az eljárás kezdetekor éppen koalíciós kormányt alakított választási riválisával Benny Gantzzal, de a koalíció decemberben összeomlott. Ennek következtében Izraelben újabb választásokat írtak ki; így két éven belül március 23-án már negyedszerre vonulnak az urnákhoz a voksolók.
Mindeközben az izraeliek hetente tüntetnek Netanjáhú ellen, amiért nem kezelte jól a COVID-19-es válságot és amiért állítólagos korrupciós ügyekbe keveredett.
Izrael leghosszabb ideig hatalmon lévő vezetője 2009 óta folyamatosan tölti be a miniszterelnöki posztot. Először 1996 és 1999 között vezette az országot.
