Krokodiltámadás ért egy férfit és egyéves gyermekét az ázsiai Borneónál, amikor csónakázás után ki akartak kötni a parton.
Az agresszív krokodil hirtelen tűnt fel a vízben mikor a 45 éves Moherat épphogy kikötött a csónakjával a sziget malajziai részén fekvő Lahad Datuban.
A közel 3,5 méteres krokodil kiugrott a vízből és elragadta az egyéves kisfiút. Az apa nem tudta megmenteni a gyereke életét, hiába próbált megküzdeni az állattal.
A férfit több helyen is megharapta az állat, többek között súlyos fejsérüléseket is szenvedett, kórházba szállították.
A gyerek holttestét még nem találták meg, vélhetően megette a krokodil – írja a Daily Star.
A krokodiltámadások továbbra is ritkák és elszigeteltek a térségben, de előfordulnak. A múlt hónapban egy hasonló méretű krokodil leharapta egy nyolcéves kisfiú fejét, miközben családjával horgászni ment Costa Ricában. Júliusban pedig egy 14 éves lánnyal végzett egy krokodil Indonéziában, miközben a ruháját mosta a folyóban.

Krokodiltámadásban vesztette életét egy férfi Borneón. Ez volt a harmadik haláleset, amelyet krokodiltámadás okozott a délkelet-ázsiai szigeten alig egy hónap alatt, írja az MTI.
A 47 éves férfi éppen a hajóján dolgozott a malajziai szigeten, amikor a hüllő a folyóba húzta – számolt be róla pénteken a helyi hírügynökség.
A szemtanúk megpróbálták elérni az áldozatot, hogy segítsenek rajta, de a krokodil magával vonszolta. A férfi testét még nem találták meg. A támadás Kuchingtól 200 kilométerre történt – mondta el a helyi mentőszolgálatok szóvivője.
Borneó halban gazdag folyóiban sok sósvízi krokodil él. Ezek a világ legnagyobb krokodiljai. A helyi hatóságok becslése szerint 10-13 ezer példány is lehet belőlük Sarawak és a szomszédos Sabah állam vizeiben.
Július elején egy 62 éves embert ölt meg Sarawakban egy ilyen krokodil, alig egy héttel korábban pedig egy 50 éves nő halálát okozta krokodiltámadás Sabah államban.
