Szökevény kecskéket fogott be a rendőrség az Egyesült Államokban, Boston külvárosában. Az állatokat egy közvetítő cég szállította ki egy családi házhoz, hogy kiirtsák a mérges szömörcét, azonban kóbor kutyák elkergették őket.
Boston külvárosában találtak meg 15 szökevény kecskét, amelyeknek egy közeli mérges szömörcést kellett volna megtisztítaniuk.
A „takarítóbrigád” egy lynnfieldi ház kertjében rágcsált, hogy visszább szorítsák az elterjedő mérges szömörcést, amikor több kóbor kutya elkergette a csordát.

A bostoni rendőrfőkapitány elmondta: valószínűleg két társaság veszett össze. A felvonulást a helyszínelés idejére leállították.
Heten megsebesültek, amikor lövöldözés kezdődött egy karibi karnevál felvonulásának közelében Bostonban. Az eseményt a történtek után leállították, majd délután ismét elindították. Az áldozatok könnyebb sérüléseket szenvedtek, őket a helyi kórházakban ápolják. A hatóságok közölték: két embert letartóztattak és több lőfegyvert lefoglaltak.
A bostoni rendőrfőkapitány elmondta, hogy valószínűleg két társaság veszett össze. Egyszer el is kellett halasztani a rendezvényt, mert 2019-ben a rendőrök előtt fogtak fegyvert egymásra a felvonulás résztvevői.
A Jouvert karibi karnevált először 1973-ban, idén pedig már ötvenedik alkalommal rendezték meg. Minden évben több ezren látogatnak a kulturális eseményre, ahol álarcosbálon vehetnek részt és játszhatnak hagyományos karibi ütőshangszeren is.
A karnevált szervező Bostoni Karibi Kulturális Örökség Társasága (Boston Society of Caribbean Culture and Heritage) közleményben ítélte el a lövöldözést, melyet X-en (korábban Twitter) is közzétettek. Szerintük a történtek beárnyékolják a karnevál ötvenedik évfordulóját és a felvonulás fő üzenetét, ami az elmúlt ötven évben az összefogás és a pozitivitás hangsúlyozása volt.

Egy ember életét vesztette, öt másik pedig megsebesült három különböző lövöldözésben, amelyeket egy órán belül jelentettek az egyesült államokbeli Boston különböző negyedeiből vasárnap éjjel – közölte a helyi rendőrség. A hatóságok vizsgálják, hogy van-e kapcsolat az esetek között.
A rendőrség este 21 óra 10 perckor szállt ki az első lövöldözéshez a város Mattapan negyedében. A rendőrök a helyszínen két, lőtt sebektől szenvedő áldozatot találtak. Kórházba szállításukat követően az egyiküket elhunytnak nyilvánították. A második áldozat sérülései nem életveszélyesek.
Körülbelül 30 perccel később, 21:40-kor a rendőrség egy másik lövöldözéshez vonult ki a közeli Dorchester városrészben. Ott egy felnőtt férfit találtak, akit többször is meglőttek, és életveszélyes vittek szállították kórházba.
21:45-kor újabb lövöldözést jelentettek a Hyde Parkból, az áldozatot nem életveszélyes sérülések miatt kellett ellátni. Nem sokkal később ugyanennek a lövöldözésnek két további áldozata a saját lábán érkezett a kórházba – közölte a rendőrség.
„Mindent összevetve ez egy meglehetősen szörnyű este volt” – jelentette ki Michael Cox bostoni rendőrfőnök. A bűncselekményekkel kapcsolatban egyelőre nem tartóztattak le senkit.

Kedden késő este felrobbant egy csomag a bostoni Északkeleti Egyetem kampuszán, egy alkalmazott kisebb sérüléseket szenvedett.
A hatóságok egy másik gyanús csomagot is találtak az egyetem mellett lévő Szépművészeti Múzeum közelében. A Szövetségi Nyomozó Iroda (FBI) is részt vesz a nyomozásban.
A felrobbant csomag egyike volt annak a kettőnek, amelyet kora este jelentettek a rendőrségnek. A másik csomagot a bostoni bombaszakértők semlegesítették a múzeumnál. Az NBC Boston jelentése szerint a kampuszon talált csomag akkor robbant fel, amikor kinyitották az egyetem – melynek 16 ezer hallgatója van – Holmes Halljának közelében. A rendőrség este fél nyolc előtt érkezett a kampuszra. Az érintett épületet kiürítették.
Egy férfi megsérült, járőrözés lesz más kampuszokon is
Shannon Nargi, az egyetem szóvivője arról számolt be, hogy a robbanás következtében a Boston belvárosában található intézmény egy meg nem nevezett dolgozójának a keze könnyebben megsérült. Felipe Colon bostoni rendőrfelügyelő később elmondta, hogy a sérült egy 45 éves férfi volt.
Michael Davis, az egyetemi rendőrség vezetője kijelentette: az egyetem már biztonságos.
Kevin Hayden, Suffolk megye kerületi ügyésze átfogó vizsgálatot ígért az ügyben.
A Bostont Cambridge-től elválasztó Károly-folyó túloldalán lévő Harvard Egyetem és a Massachusettsi Műszaki Egyetem bejelentette, hogy elővigyázatosságból fokozzák a járőrözést a kampuszukon, és felszólították a diákokat, tanárokat, hogy jelentsenek minden gyanús dolgot.
A 2013-as Boston Maratonon a célvonal közelében helyeztek el két bombát. A robbanás következtében hárman meghaltak és több mint 260 ember megsérült.
