У Китаї в автономному регіоні Внутрішня Монголія посилили заходи безпеки після того, як підтвердився випадок захворювання на бубонну чуму.
З таким діагнозом лікують двох братів, але це не викликало в країні бурхливої реакції. Недужих ізолювали.
Проте в китайському місті Баяннур третій ступінь готовності за чотирибальною шкалою діятиме до кінця року. Це сільськогосподарський центр регіону, де розвинена молочна промисловість. Влада Баяннура закликала місцевих жителів уникати громадських місць та не полювати й не споживати гризунів. У згаданому регіоні це монгольський бабак – тарбаган. На нього полюють в основному через хутро, але їдять також і м’ясо.
Про пацієнтів у Внутрішній Монголії відомо, що вони споживали м’ясо бабака. А торік у цьому регіоні від чуми померло подружжя, яке їло сире м’ясо гризуна. За тамтешнім народним повір’ям, споживання сирих нирок бабака зміцнює імунну систему.
Як зазначив російський фахівець Володимир Земчугов, китайська та монгольська влада знають, що робити, тому загрози епідемії немає. Він вважає, що, безумовно, усіх вакцинують та оголосять карантин. Однак за інформацією CNN, проти чуми немає ефективної вакцини.
Збудником недуги є бактерія, присутня в організмі дрібних ссавців і бліх, що живуть на них. У ХІV столітті чума, відома під назвою «Чорна смерть», забрала життя приблизно 100 мільйонів людей у світі. Тоді хворобу поширювали здебільшого щури, але вона передається й повітряно-крапельним шляхом.
Існують різні клінічні форми чумної інфекції, одна з них – бубонна, для якої характерними є болючі запалені лімфатичні вузли, кашель та висока температура. Сьогодні чума піддається лікуванню антибіотиками, але залишається дуже важким захворюванням.
За даними ВООЗ, у світі трапляється близько 1–2 тисяч випадків чуми на рік. Зустрічається хвороба як у бідних країнах, так і в найбільш розвинутих, зокрема в США. Найчастіше чуму фіксують у Демократичній Республіці Конго, Перу та на острові Мадагаскар.
