Véget ért Franciaországban a 40 egymást követő napon át tartó csapadékos rekordsorozat, de az áradások még nem múltak el annak ellenére, hogy egyes területeken javulás jelei mutatkoznak – jelentette be kedden a Météo-France országos meteorológiai szolgálat.
A megszakítás nélküli esős napok korábbi rekordját 2023-ban állították fel, amikor 32 napon át esett az eső.
Idén ez a sorozat január 14-től február 22-ig tartott, és a mérések 1959-es megkezdése óta a leghosszabb esősorozat az országban.
A Météo-France meghatározása szerint az „esős nap” bármely 24 órás időszak, amelyben az átlagos csapadékmennyiség egy adott területen vagy az egész országban eléri vagy meghaladja az 1 millimétert. Hétfőn a végösszeg 0,7 mm-re csökkent, ezzel véget ért a sorozat.
Ez a felhalmozódó csapadék egy sor zavarhoz és közelmúltbeli viharhoz kapcsolódik, mint például a Goretti, az Ingrid, a Nils és a Pedro, az Atlanti-óceán mentén, amelyet két anticiklon keretez, amelyek Afrika és Észak-Európa felett helyezkednek el. Az éghajlatváltozás a csapadékot is fokozza.

A román országos vészhelyzeti felügyelőség (IGSU) vasárnapi jelentése szerint a hétvégén több mint 3700 katonai tűzoltó állt készenlétben, hogy segítsen a bajbajutottaknak, miután Erdély több megyéjében harmadfokú, vörös jelzésű viharriasztás volt érvényben. Országos szinten összesen 51 embert kellett kimenekíteni – 23-at kitelepítettek és 23-at kimentettek – az ár elől, őket a hatóságok panziókban szállásolták el. Több erdélyi megye – Fehér, Arad, Bihar, Hunyad, Máramaros, Maros és Temes – mellett a mentőegységeknek dél-romániai és moldvai településeken is segíteniük kellett, miután a hirtelen lezúdult csapadék nyomán megduzzadt folyók, patakok házakat, udvarokat árasztottak el. Az erős szélben kidőlt fák épületek tetőzetét, gépkocsikat rongáltak meg. Fehér megyében, Remete (Rimet) településen a hegyimentők egy 25 fős turistacsoportot menekítettek ki a megáradt patak elől. Hunyad megyében három települést – Valár (Valari), Aranyos (Aranies) és Ulm – elszigeteltek a megáradt folyóvizek. A Hunyad megyei prefektúra közölte, hogy állandó a kapcsolat az érintett településekkel, és első körben az infrastruktúrát próbálják használhatóvá tenni. A katonaság tűzoltói mellett a csendőrség is készenlétben van. Romániában az országos meteorológiai szolgálat vasárnap az ország 36 megyéjére első- és másodfokú riasztást adott ki, a hétfő délelőttig érvényes másodfokú riasztás főleg erdélyi megyékre vonatkozik. A térség folyóira első- és másodfokú árvízriasztást rendeltek el, mely szintén hétfőig érvényes.
