Öt német hegymászó vesztette életét egy lavina katasztrófában az olaszországi Dél-Tirol Ortler hegyvidékén. Vasárnap az olasz mentőcsapatok megtalálták az utolsó két eltűnt német – egy apa és 17 éves lánya – holttestét is. A csoport további három tagjának holttestét már szombaton megtalálták.
A hegyimentő szolgálat szerint szombat este kialudt a remény, hogy élve megtalálják a két megmaradt hegymászót. A műveletet szombat naplemente után meg kellett szakítani, a mentőcsapatok vasárnapra, napsütésben tervezik a következő keresést.
Az apa és lánya „biztosan” meghaltak egy körülbelül 200 méteres zuhanás után – mondta Olaf Reinstadler, a hegyimentő szolgálat szóvivője. Ezt a becslést vasárnap megerősítették.
A többi halálos áldozat életkoráról és származásáról kezdetben nem volt hivatalos információ. A baleset okának kiderítése folyamatban van.
„Alig van esély a menekülésre”
Az olasz hegyimentő szolgálat szerint a baleset szombat délután, röviddel 16 óra előtt történt, körülbelül 3200 méteres magasságban. Az öt hegymászó az Ortler régióban található 3545 méter magas Vertainspitze csúcsára tartott felfelé, amikor a hó leomlott, és lavinát okozott.
A korábbi megállapítások szerint a hegymászók három kötélcsapatban haladtak, egy háromfős és két kétfős csoportban, akik egymástól függetlenül másztak. Két férfi túlélte a balesetet, őket helikopterrel szállították a közeli bolzanói kórházba.
Nem világos, hogy a hegymászók miért tartottak még felfelé ilyen késői órán. A mentők szerint a csoport reggel kezdte meg túráját. A lavina akkor kezdődött, amikor már sötétedni kezdett.
A csúcs alatt körülbelül száz méterrel letört. A hegymászókat láthatóan teljesen váratlanul érte. A meredek átjárón, ahol hágóvassal és jégcsákánnyal haladtak, alig volt esély a menekülésre. Két férfi, akik távolról figyelték meg a lavinát, riasztotta a mentőszolgálatokat.
Az északi oldal különösen nehéznek számít
Reinstadler szerint szombaton valójában nem volt különösebben magas lavinaveszély. Lehetséges, hogy a lavina a heves hófúvások következtében tört ki, mivel a frissen lehullott hó még nem kötött kellőképpen a talajhoz.
Néhány nappal ezelőtt esett le az évszak első friss hava a régióban. Napközben a hőmérséklet még mindig meglehetősen magas az évnek ebben az időszakában.
A hegymászó közösségben az északi oldalt „magasalpi jégtúrának” tekintik, amelyhez kötél és teljes jégmászó felszerelés szükséges.

Hét ember tartózkodott a hotelben, mindannyian biztonságban kijutottak.
Egy sziklafalból letört darab zúdult az észak-olaszországi Bolzanóban található Hotel Eberlre kedden – írja a Tageszeitung cikke alapján a HVG.
A tűzoltók elmondása szerint a dél-tiroli szálloda felét betemette a törmelék.
A hotel zárva volt, vendégeket nem fogadott, de a hatóság közlése szerint hét ember, köztük a tulajdonosok az épületben voltak, nekik sikerült biztonságban kijutniuk.
A tűzoltóság még vizsgálja, hogy vannak-e emberek a törmelékek alatt.
Az Euronews január 3-án számolt be egy dél-tiroli tragédiáról. A híroldal szerint egy lavina ölt meg egy házaspárt az olaszországi Schnalstalnál, az áldozatok között volt a Raiffeisen Bank korábbi igazgatója, a 65 éves Michael Gruener és felesége is.
