Több ezer szíriai gyűlt össze Bécs belvárosában, hogy kifejezzék a Bassár el-Aszad szíriai elnök bukása felett érzett örömüket. Az eredetileg békésnek induló demonstráció azonban káoszba taszította az osztrák fővárost.
Hannes Amesbauer, az Osztrák Szabadságpárt (FPÖ) biztonsági szóvivője szerint a résztvevők száma az eredetileg bejelentett háromezer fő helyett több mint tizenkétezerre nőtt. A rendőrség nehezen birkózott meg a város minden kerületéből érkező szíriai tömegekkel, még az eredetileg az Austria–SCR Altach labdarúgó-mérkőzés biztosítására beosztott rendőri erőket is a belvárosba vezényelték.
„Teljes káosz uralkodik” – idézi Amesbauert az Exxpress osztrák napilap.
Míg a média csak tűzijátékokról és petárdákról számol be, valójában riasztópisztolyokból is lövéseket adtak le – hívta fel a figyelmet a szóvivő. A heute.at osztrák hírportál szerint „Allah akbar!” (Isten a legnagyobb) kiáltások is hallatszottak a tömegben.
Dominik Nepp, az FPÖ bécsi elnöke szerint Aszad bukása lehetőséget teremt az Ausztriában élő közel százezer szíriai menekültnek a hazatérésre. „Szíriaiak ezrei ünneplik a rendszerváltást. Mostantól kezdve segíteniük kellene hazájuk újjáépítésében, ahelyett hogy begyűjtik a szociális segélyeket Bécsben” – írta a politikus a közösségi médiában.
Az FPÖ politikusai bírálták a belügyminisztériumot és a rendőrséget a tüntetés kezelése miatt, és lemondásra szólították fel Gerhard Karner belügyminisztert és Omar Haijawi-Pirchnert, az alkotmányvédelmi szolgálat vezetőjét.
Bécs mellett több más európai nagyvárosban is az utcákra vonultak a szíriaiak Aszad bukását ünnepelve. A németországi Essenben például teljesen megbénította a közlekedést a mintegy tizenegyezer tüntető – írja a Der Westen német regionális hírportál.

Környezetvédelmi aktivisták foglalták el Gordon Ramsay három Michelin-csillagos éttermét Londonban. Az Animal Rebellion tagjai szombat késő délután mentek be az étterembe. Leültek az asztalokhoz és egyfajta „álmenüt” tartottak maguk elé: egy olyan lapot, amin látszanak az eredeti étlapon szereplő tételek (steak, borjú) környezetvédelmi költségei, írja a Sky News.
A csoport közleményük alapján a növényi alapú étrend mellett kampányol. A csoport egyik tagja úgy nyilatkozott, azt szeretnék, ha Ramsayék „ahelyett, hogy kolosszális profitot termelnek az éllatok és az éghajlatuk rovására” inkább támogatnák a növény alapú étkezést.
„Ez a válasz a megélhetési költségekre és az éghajlati válságra.” – tették hozzá. A Ramsay-étterem szóvivője azt mondta, mindenkinek joga van a véleményéhez, az aktivisták megmozdulása azonban szerinte nem volt helyénvaló: „Hihetetlenül helytelen és mélységesen tiszteletlen dolog betörni egy étterembe és megzavarni a keményen dolgozó személyzetet munkájukban, illetve tönkretenni azon vendégek estéjét, akik hónapokig vártak a foglalásukra.”
A rendőrök végül bezárták az éttermet, ekkor a tüntetők elhagyták az épületet. Az Animal Rebellion egyik tagját, Emma Smartot pár napja azért vitte be a rendőrség, mert megpróbált közel férkőzni David Attenboroughhoz, miközben a természettudós vacsorázott. A csoport szerint Smart fel akarta hívni a figyelmet, hogy ahol Attenborough vacsorázik, ott drága a tengeri menü. Mindemellett pedig „csak egy ötperces beszélgetést szeretett volna Sir Daviddel az éghajlatváltozás kezelésének szükségességéről.”

Megindult a forgalom a Kelebia–Tompa határátkelőnél péntek hét órakor, miután a szerb hatóságok elszállították a határátkelőhelyről az ott gyülekező illegális bevándorlókat – jelentette az MTI.

információi szerint a határ mellett tiltakozó migránsokat éjjel két óra körül
buszokra tették, majd rendőri kísérettel a dél-szerbiai Presevo
befogadóközpontjába vitték. A migránsok nem álltak ellen, békésen szálltak fel
a buszokra.
A menetet – amely
csütörtök délután érte el a magyar határt – hetek óta szervezték a közösségi
médiában zárt csoportokban.
A tervek szerint
péntek hajnalban indultak volna el a magyar határ felé, de miután a szerb
hatóságok tudomást szereztek erről, korábbra hozták az indulást. A szerb
rendőrség nem hivatalos információk szerint előző éjszaka már több tucat
migránst begyűjtött, és rabszállító járművekkel a dél-szerbiai
befogadóközpontba vitte őket.
Szerbiában
mintegy hatezer migráns tartózkodik. 2015 óta nem jelentek meg migránsok ilyen
nagy számban a szerb-magyar határon, inkább a Horvátországgal és a
Bosznia-Hercegovinával közös határszakaszon próbáltak meg Nyugat-Európa felé
haladni.
