Csütörtök délután három autó ütközött össze Romániában, amelyek közül az egyik diplomatarendszámú volt. A balesetnek a hírek szerint biztosan van egy halálos áldozata: Vágó Ferenc, Magyarország bukaresti konzulja.
Meghalt Vágó Ferenc, a bukaresti magyar konzul egy autóbalesetben, Romániában, csütörtök délután.
Egy fával megrakodott teherautó haladt a romániai A1-es autópályán, Déva és Nagylak között, amikor egy ponton az egyik gumiabroncs felrobbant, a teherautó kormányozhatatlanná vált, kipörgött, és áthajtott a szemközti sávba – írja a Mandiner az Adevarul nevű román lap információira hivatkozva.
A hírek szerint összesen három gépjármű karambolozott a balesetben, köztük egy diplomatarendszámmal rendelkező autó, amelynek sofőrje Vágó Ferenc, a bukaresti magyar konzul volt, aki életét vesztette a balesetben.
A rendőrség büntetőeljárást kezdeményezett gondatlanságból elkövetett emberölés bűntette miatt.
A konzul volt a sofőr, gyakorlatilag összezúzta őket a teherautó
Az Agerpres román hírügynökség utóbb megosztott néhány újabb információt az incidensről, valamint megerősítették, hogy valóban egy magyar diplomata a baleset halálos áldozata.
Rendőrségi forrásra hivatkozva azt írták, a kormányozhatatlanná vált teherautó frontálisan ütközött egy személygépkocsival, amelyet egy 60 éves férfi (vagyis Vágó Ferenc) vezetett, aki meghalt a balesetben. A hírügynökség ezenkívül azt is írta, hogy a konzul autója után a teherautó még két másik járművel ütközött, mielőtt egy árokba hajtott, vagyis ennek alapján összesen négy jármű lehetett érintett a balesetben (a korábban említett három helyett).
A Digi24 román hírportál riportere mindeközben azt jelentette a baleset helyszínéről, hogy a konzul autóját teljesen összezúzta a teherautó. Beszámolójuk szerint a balesetet követően a rendőrség tájékoztatta a magyar nagykövetséget az incidensről.
Az Ora de Sibiu regionális román hírportál azt írta, hogy a baleset részleteit a magyar és román hatóságok közösen vizsgálják. Hozzátették: az ütközés rendkívül erős lehetett, és a konzul azonnal életét veszíthette a balesetben.
A bukaresti magyar nagykövetség honlapján Vágó Ferencet II. osztályú tanácsosként, beosztott diplomataként és konzulként tüntették fel.

A horvát hatóságok elfogtak Zágrábban egy 64 éves horvát állampolgárt, akit azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy két indiai állampolgárral együtt embercsempészetben vett részt – közölte szerdán a rendőrség. A külügyminisztérium közölte, hogy egyik munkatársuk, egy diplomata ellen folyik eljárás.
A rendőrség közleménye szerint a hatóságok megállapították, hogy 2023 folyamán az illető haszonszerzés céljával egy indiai állampolgárnak bérbe adta zágrábi családi házát, valamint segítette, illetve lehetővé tette négy bangladesi és öt pakisztáni állampolgár jogellenes belépését, mozgását és tartózkodását Horvátország területén.
Az N1 horvát hírcsatorna közlése szerint a gyanúsított diplomata a rendőröknek azt állította: csak a családi háza alsó szintjét adta bérbe az indiainak, és nem tudott arról, hogy illegális tevékenységet folytat. Hivatalos szerződést a bérbeadásról nem tudott felmutatni.
A rendőrség még tavaly december 27-én kapott bejelentést arról, hogy illegális bevándorlók tartózkodnak egy zágrábi családi házban. A rendőrök a helyszínen találtak egy indiai állampolgárt, akit őrizetbe vettek illegális horvátországi tartózkodás miatt, a házat pedig elkezdték figyelni. Egy nappal később felfedeztek további kilenc illegális bevándorlót, akik az ablakokon keresztül próbáltak meg elszökni a helyszínről. Később kiderült, hogy ők bangladesi, illetve pakisztáni állampolgárok.
A hatóságok a horvát diplomatát és két indiai állampolgárt embercsempészettel vádolnak, az egyik indiainak azonban sikerült megszöknie. Az őrizetbe vett indiai tagadja az ellene szóló vádat, és szökésben lévő honfitársára hárította a felelősséget. Mint mondta, a másik kutatta fel a migránsokat, akik aztán illegálisan léptek be Horvátországba, neki csak az volt a feladata, hogy taxival eljuttassa őket a szlovén határhoz.
A horvát külügyminisztérium közölte: tudomásuk van az egyik tisztségviselőjük elleni nyomozásról, és ha a hatóságok vádat emelnek ellene, akkor a tárca a büntetőeljárásról és a köztisztviselőkről szóló törvény szerint jár majd el.
A migránsok főként Szerbián vagy Montenegrón keresztül érkeznek Boszniába, onnan az európai uniós tag Horvátországba, majd Szlovéniába folytatják útjukat, ahonnan végül Nyugat-Európába szeretnének eljutni.

Megöltek egy francia diplomatát a Gázai övezetben. Ezt december 16-án jelentette be a francia külügyminisztérium.
Megjegyezték hogy a férfi halálosan megsebesült Rafah Izrael általi bombázása során december 13-án. A francia főkonzulátus egyik kollégájának otthonában szállt meg, két másik alkalmazottjával és számos családtagjával együtt. A Külügyminisztérium tájékoztatása szerint az ágyúzás következtében mintegy tíz ember vesztette életét.

Dél-Koreában a rendfenntartók őrizetbe vették az ukrán nagykövetség egyik munkatársát, aki italozott és garázdálkodott egy Szöul központjában található bárban. Az ukrán nagykövetség már reagált, és megígérte, hogy együttműködnek a koreai hatóságokkal a vizsgálat során. Ukrajna Külügyminisztériuma közölte, hogy visszahívják a diplomatát – jelentette az Ukrajinszka Pravda a Külügyminisztériumra, a szöuli ukrán nagykövetségre és a KBS-re hivatkozva.
A koreai portál arról számolt be, hogy előállítottak egy ukrán diplomatát Szöulban, akit azzal gyanúsítanak, hogy ittas állapotban bántalmazta a bár dolgozóit és a rendőröket.
A szöuli yongsani rendőrőrs közölte, hogy őrizetbe vették az ukrán nagykövetség egy 40 év körüli munkatársát testi sértés és az igazságszolgáltatás akadályozása miatt, mert rátámadt a személyzetre és a rendőrökre egy bárban Itaewon (Yongsan-gu) kerületben.
A közlés szerint az ukrán diplomata a bár előtt állítólag összeveszett a vendégekkel, és megtámadta az őt megállítani próbáló alkalmazottat, valamint a kiérkező rendőrt.
A rendőrök viselkedése miatt a helyszínen őrizetbe vették a külképviselet munkatársát. Az eset kivizsgálása céljából bevitték a rendőrkapitányságra, majd éjjel elengedték.
Az esetre reagált Ukrajna Szöuli Nagykövetsége, elnézést kértek a koreai közvéleménytől és minden érintettől az incidens által okozott bármilyen szenvedésért és kellemetlenségért.
„A nagykövetség szorosan együttműködik a koreai hatóságokkal az eset teljes és pártatlan kivizsgálása érdekében” – közölték.
Később Ukrajna Külügyminisztériuma bejelentette, hogy úgy döntöttek, visszahívják a diplomatát.
Oleh Nikolenko, a Külügyminisztérium szóvivője közölte, hogy a tárca elemezte a szöuli incidens minden részletét.
„Végeredményben döntés született a diplomata azonnali visszahívásáról hosszú távú kiküldetéséből és visszatéréséről Ukrajnába. Az ukrán diplomáciai szolgálat minden dolgozójának külföldön szigorúan be kell tartania a szakmai és erkölcsi etikát, valamint tiszteletben kell tartania a tartózkodási ország jogszabályait” – mondta a szóvivő.

Egy korábbi berlini gyilkossághoz is köze lehet a halott orosz diplomatának, akit a német biztonsági hatóságok Oroszország egyik titkosszolgálata, az FSZB fedett alkalmazottjának tekintettek.
Holtan találtak egy orosz diplomatát a múlt hónapban az ország nagykövetsége előtt a német fővárosban – derült ki az újonnan megjelent információk alapján.
A férfi holttestére október 19-én bukkantak rá a berlini épületegyüttest őrző rendőrök a járdán – írja a Der Spiegel honlapja. A lap szerin nyilvánvalóan valamelyik felső emeletről esett le, de nem világos, hogyan.
Az orosz nagykövetség tragikus balesetnek nevezte a hivatalosan meg nem nevezett diplomata halálát.
A német külügyminisztérium megerősítette az esetet de további részleteket nem közölt. A berlini rendőrség nem kommentálta nyilvánosan a halálesetet, amelyről pénteken számoltak be először.
A diplomaták hivatalos listája szerint a 35 éves férfit 2019 nyarán akkreditálták, a berlini orosz nagykövetség másodtitkáraként szolgált. A német biztonsági hatóságok az orosz belföldi titkosszolgálat, az FSZB fedett alkalmazottjának tekintették – írja a Der Spiegel.
A Bellingcat oknyomozó portál nyilvánosan elérhető adatokat felhasználva közölte, hogy a férfi apja az orosz FSZB hírszerző ügynökség Második Szolgálatának igazgatóhelyettese – számolt be a brit BBC.
A Második Szolgálatot korábban már összefüggésbe hozták a Tiergarten-gyilkossággal, vagyis Zelimhan hangosvili grúz nemzetiségű volt csecsen lázadó parancsnok meggyilkolásával. hangosvilit 2019 augusztusában lőtték fejbe egy berlini parkban.
Németország Oroszországot vádolja a gyilkosság megrendelésével.
A Második Szolgálat tisztviselőit Alekszej Navalnij orosz ellenzéki politikus 2020-as megmérgezésével is összefüggésbe hozták.
A Der Spiegel értesülései szerint az orosz nagykövetség a diplomata múlt hónapban bekövetkezett halálát követően nem járult hozzá a boncoláshoz, és a holttestet már haza is szállították Oroszországba.
Az orosz nagykövetség hangsúlyozta, hogy a diplomata halálával kapcsolatban több nyugati médiában megjelent találgatást teljesen inkorrektnek tartja.

Magyarországon a koronavírus-járvány egyik áldozata a budapesti brit nagykövethelyettes, Steven Dick.
Szerda reggel még csak annyit írtak meg a lapok, hogy koronavírusban meghalt egy brit állampolgár, de többet nem lehetett tudni. Az index hozta le délután a brit nagykövetségre hivatkozva, hogy a mindössze 37 éves nagykövet-helyettes volt a járvány tizedik magyarországi áldozata.
A brit követség honlapján fellelhető életrajza szerint miután egy évig csak arabul tanult, Steven Dick dolgozott Rijádban, Szíriában és Afganisztánban is. A fiatal férfi 2019 decemberétől lett a külképviselet helyettes vezetője.
A nagykövetség közleménye idézi Magyarország brit nagykövetét, Iain Lindsayt: „A csapatunkat sokkolta és elszomorította Steven halála. Legmélyebb együttérzésünket szeretnénk kifejezni a családjának és barátainak. Steven mindannyiunk számára kedves kolléga és barát volt, akinek tavalyi érkezése nagy segítség volt a szakértelme miatt, és kiválóan beszélt magyarul is”.
Az elhunyt nagykövethelyettes szülei, Steven és Carol Dick üzenetét is tolmácsolja a közlemény, amely szerint fiuk kedves, vicces és nagylelkű ember volt, akinek az volt az álma, hogy a hazáját képviselje külföldön.
Dominic Raab brit külügyminiszter üzenetében azt emelte ki, hogy egy munkája iránt elkötelezett diplomatát vesztettek el, aki szenvedéllyel képviselte a hazáját, és akit mindannyian hiányolni fognak.
