Több száz katonai alkalmazottat tiltottak el bevetésen való részvételtől az Egyesült Királyságban, miután nyilvánosságra került egy videó, amelyen láthatóan orgiázás látható egy essex-i katonai bázison – számolt be róla a Sky News.



A brit hadsereg boszniai és koszovói bevetését törölték a videó kikerülése után, amelyen látszólag brit ejtőernyősök vettek rész.






A hadsereg balkáni akciója szeptemberben kezdődött volna, mintegy 300 katonatiszt bevetésével. A videóról kiderült, hogy konszenzusos alapon törtért, ugyanakkor a nők becsmérlésére alkalmas, káros és maró tartalomnak nevezik a brit sajtóban is.



Nyolc ejtőernyős ellen rendőrségi vizsgálat indult, miután lefilmezték őket, amint egy civil nővel orgiát tartottak. Bár bűncselekmény nem történt, az eset nyilvánvalóan nem előnyös PR-szempontból a fegyveres szervekre nézve. Ráadásul a hedonista harcosok ezzel társaikat is bajba sodorták.



Andrew Harrison altábornagy, a brit hadsereg új főnöke, az ejtőernyősök ezredparancsnoka úgy nyilatkozott, hogy a vezérkari főnök Sir Patrick Sanders tábornok „átmenetileg elvesztette a bizalmát” az harmadik ejtőernyős zászlóaljban.



A zászlóalj vezetése elmondta, hogy sajnálják a hadsereg hírnevét rontó viselkedést, és törekszenek rá, hogy helyreállítsák megkopott hírnevüket.



Hozzátették, hogy az egység bármikor készen áll arra, hogy szükség esetén az országot védje.

A DHC-2 Turbo Beaver típusú gép Örebro város repülőteréről indult útnak, nem sokkal a felszállás után azonban eddig ismeretlen okok miatt lezuhant, majd azonnal kigyulladt.









Mivel nem tudott elég magasra emelkedni, az ejtőernyősök nem tudtak vészugrást végrehajtani, így a repülőben csapódtak a földnek a kifutópálya közelében.



A balesetnek sajtóinformációk szerint nincsenek túlélői. „Nagyon súlyos balesetről van szó” – olvasható a svéd rendőrség honlapján.
