Brutális kegyetlenséggel végezték ki a 18 éves Mahjubin Hakimit, az afganisztáni ifjúsági röplabda-válogatott játékosát. Mauro Berruto, az olasz nemzeti röplabda válogatott korábbi edzője a nyár végén kapott kétségbeejtő üzeneteket az afgán lánytól, melyben azt írta: „Velem is végezni fognak, mint a csapattársammal, akit úgy vágtak le, mint egy állatot.”
A Tények beszámolója szerint az edző azonnal elkezdte szervezni a sportolónők Afganisztánból való kimenekítését, Hakimi életét azonban sajnos nem tudta megmenteni. A lányt Kabulban lefejezték a tálibok, mert játék közben nem viselt hidzsábot.

A lány rendőrként dolgozott és az afgán főváros önkormányzati csapatában játszott, a Kabuli Önkormányzat Röplabda Klubjában, valamint az ország ifjúsági válogatottjának is tagja volt. Halálról csak most láttak napvilágot a hírek, miután családját halálosan megfenyegették a tálibok.
