Spanyolországban szokatlan módon derült fény egy gyilkosságra: a Google Térkép (Google Maps) utcaképe buktatott le egy férfit, aki feltehetően éppen egy holttestet próbált elrejteni autója csomagtartójában – számolt be a Hírado.hu.
Az eset az ország északi részén, a Zaragoza és Valladolid között fekvő apró községben, Tajuecóban történt.

Egy negyvenes éveiben járó férfi 2023-ban érkezett a térségbe Kubából, hogy az eltűnt felesége nyomára bukkanjon. Mindössze annyit tudott, hogy a nő Soria tartományban, Berlanga de Duero településen vagy annak közelében él. A keresésére indult, de röviddel később nyomtalanul eltűnt. Nemrég kiderült, hogy meggyilkolták: a hírek szerint az elkövető a felesége és annak szeretője lehetett.
A rendőrök a nyomozás során több ezer utcaképet néztek át a Google Térképen.
Rábukkantak egy képre, amelyen látható, hogy egy férfi egy fehér zsákot próbál betuszkolni autójának csomagtartójába. A zsákban az eltűnt férj holttestét rejtették el.
Nem sokkal később sikerült beazonosítani az autót, azzal együtt pedig a gyanúsítottat is.
Miután a telefonját lehallgatták, megtudták, hogy a gyanúsított az eltűnt férfi feleségével él együtt.
A hónapokig tartó, titkos adatgyűjtéssel járó nyomozás végén a nőt és a szeretőjét is letartóztatták, majd vádat emeltek ellenük. Nem sokkal később az áldozat feldarabolt holttestének másik részét is megtalálták, amit a gyilkosok egy másik község temetőjében rejtettek el.

Három férfi életét vesztette Indiában, miután éjszaka a Google navigációs alkalmazását követve lehajtottak egy befejezetlen hídról – számolt be a The Futurism a The Economic Times nevű indiai lapra hivatkozva.
Az áldozatok Gurugram városából Bareillybe utaztak autóval, és úgy tudni, hogy a sötétben nem látták meg időben, hogy a híd nincs befejezve, miután egyes részeit elmosta egy hónapokkal korábbi árvíz, és még csak nemrégiben kezdték el újjáépíteni. A három férfi több tíz métert zuhant a hídról.
A helyi hatóságok szerint az érintettek a Google navigációs rendszerét használták a baleset előtt, ami nem jelezte, hogy a híd használaton kívül van. „A Google Térképet használták a tájékozodáshoz, és leestek a befejezetlen hídról” – nyilatkozta az egyik áldozat sógora a The Economic Timesnak. „Az utat le kellett volna zárni, de nem így történt. A Térképeknek pedig nem kellett volna azt mutatnia, hogy az út járható.”
Nem ez az első alkalom, hogy a Google navigációs rendszere a halálba navigál egy felhasználót. Tavaly egy 47 éves családapa vesztette életét az USA-ban, miután az alkalmazás arra utasította, hogy hajtson keresztül egy hídon, holott az már évek óta összeomlott, és azóta sem sikerült megjavítani. A férfi a hídról a folyóba zuhant, és megfulladt. Az elhunyt családja szerint – akik pert is indítottak az ügyben – lánya kilencedik születésnapjáról tartott hazafelé a családapa, amikor a tragédia történt.
