Az amerikai Észak-Karolinához tartozó több szigeten ideiglenes kitelepítést rendeltek el a helyi hatóságok az Erin hurrikán fenyegetése miatt – számolt be az MTI-re hivatkozva a hvg.hu.
Az amerikai hurrikánközpont (NHC) – hétfői közleménye szerint – arra számít, hogy a térség közelébe érkezett Erin csak lassan gyengül, miközben jelenleg óránként 220 kilométeres sebességgel tombol. Az előrejelzések szerint megváltoztatja a korábban a parttal nagyjából párhuzamosra várt útvonalát is, és mélyebben behatol a kontinensre, a tengeren pedig 15 méteres hullámokat is előidézhet.
A vihar hétfőn este Bermudától és Észak-Karolinától is valamivel több mint ezer kilométerre volt, és az NHC számításai szerint a hét közepén érkezik a kettő közé. A keleti parti állam hatóságai egyelőre Ocracoke és Hatteras szigetek kiürítését rendelték el.
Az Erin hétfőn Puerto Rico közelében száguldott el, ahol villámárvizeket, kisebb földcsuszamlásokat és kiterjedt áramszünetet okozott.

Szibériában szombaton, április 5-én a hurrikán hatására fokozódtak a tűzvészek, és a tűz már az épületekre is átterjedt.
Jelentések szerint a Szibériában tomboló erős szél fokozta a tűzvészeket, és a lángok már házakra is átterjedtek. Hakaszijában tűzvész miatt rendkívüli állapotot hirdettek.
„Az erős széllökések következtében számos településen súlyosbodott a helyzet, körülbelül 43 tűzfészeket regisztráltak. A helyzet jelenleg továbbra is súlyos a Kalinyine és Szapogov falvakban, Novoenyiszejciben, valamint az Ocsurszki község területén. Számos településen áramkimaradások vannak” – mondta a régió vezetője, Valentin Konovalov.

A Milton hurrikán, amely röviddel a Helen hurrikán pusztítása után újabb komoly károkat okozott Floridában, mostanra elhagyta az államot és hamarosan elcsendesül az Atlanti-óceán felett. A mentési és kárfelmérési munkálatok még hetekig eltartanak, így jelenleg nem lehet pontosan felmérni a károk nagyságát. Eddig 11 halálos áldozatról tudni, de a hatóságok szerint sikerült elkerülni a legsúlyosabb forgatókönyvet.
12 óra alatt száguldott keresztül Floridán a Milton hurrikán. Legalább 11 ember meghalt, de egyelőre nincs arról adat, hogy hány embert tartanak nyilván eltűntként. A hurrikán partot érése előtt 19 tornádót regisztráltak. A PowerOutage.us nyomkövető szolgáltatás szerint több mint 3,4 millió ügyfél van áram nélkül.
A vihar fákat döntött ki, törmeléket hordott az utakra, lerombolt legalább 100 épületet és leszakította a Tampa Bay Rays baseball-csapatnak otthont adó stadion kupoláját. A vihar egyes területeken csaknem fél méternyi esőt zúdított. Legalább 340 embert és 49 háziállatot mentettek ki a folyamatban lévő kutatási és mentési műveletek során.
Két héten belül a második hurrikán
A Milton hurrikán két héttel azután érkezett, hogy az Egyesült Államok délkeleti részét lerohanta a Helene hurrikán, amely több mint 200 ember halálát okozta, és többen eltűntek. Az akkori tapasztalatok alapján most a hatóságok lényegesen hamarabb kezdték el a lakosság tájékoztatását és evakuálását, valószínűleg ennek is köszönhető, hogy a Milton kevesebb halálos áldozatot követelt. Egyesek szerint túlzó is volt a figyelmeztetés, a korábban legnagyobb, 5-ös kategóriába sorolt hurrikán 3-asra szelídült, mire partot ért. Így is 200 km/órás széllökéseket okozott.
Elkerülték a legrosszabbat
Ron DeSantis floridai kormányzó szerint az állam elkerülte a „legrosszabb forgatókönyvet”, bár figyelmeztetett, hogy a károk így is jelentősek, és az áradások továbbra is aggodalomra adnak okot.
Újranyitások
A tampai nemzetközi repülőtér közép-európai idő szerint ma kora délután nyit újra, addigra már több öböl menti kikötő, köztük Panama City, St Joe és a floridai Key West is újra fogad hajókat. Tampa környékén újranyitják a hidakat is.
Ismét lehet szórakozni a floridai vidámparkokban: a Disney World, a Universal Studios és a SeaWorld is bejelentették, hogy némileg csökkentett üzemben, de ismét várják a közönséget.
Aligátorok a vízben
Aligátorokat láttak az árvízben – mondta egy hurrikánkutató a Sky Newsnak. Arra figyelmeztetett, hogy az embereknek óvatosnak kell lenniük, amikor a vízben járnak.
50 kilométerre a parttól
A parti őrség kimentett egy férfit, aki egy hűtőbe kapaszkodva lebegett a vízen, mintegy 50 kilométernyire a parttól a Mexikói-öbölben, Longboat Key-nél. A túlélését és megtalálását nagyban segítette, hogy mentőmellény volt rajta, amin működött a helymeghatározó és a jelzőfény. A férfi a hajójáról került a vízbe.
Százakat mentettek ki a lakóparkból
A Tampától mintegy 20 mérföldre nyugatra fekvő Clearwaterben egy apartmankomplexumban rekedt emberek százait sikerült kimenteni a helyenként nyakig és mellkasig érő árvízből.
Temetés a vihar szemében
A National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) meteorológusai a tavaly meghalt díjnyertes tudósnak, Peter Dodge-nak tisztelegtek azzal, hogy hamvait a Milton hurrikánba dobták. A maradványokat kedd este engedték ki a hurrikán szemébe, kevesebb mint 24 órával azelőtt, hogy a Milton partot ért a floridai Sarasota melletti Siesta Key-ben.

Újabb trópusi vihar formálódott a Mexikói-öbölben, amit Miltonnak keresztelt el az amerikai Nemzeti Hurrikánközpont (National Hurricane Center – NHC). A vihar Florida felé tart, az előrejelzések szerint útközben hurrikánná is erősödhet, mire jövő hét szerda-csütörtök magasságában eléri az állam partjait.
Az újabb vihar alig több mint egy hét után követi a Helene nevű hurrikánt, amely hatalmas pusztítást végzett az USA délkeleti részén, több mint 200 ember halálát okozva, de a hatóságok még mindig százakat keresnek.
Joe Biden amerikai elnök, aki csütörtökön a levegőből vette szemügyre a floridai pusztítást, több milliárd dollárra becsülte a károkat. S,ok település máig áramszolgáltatás és vezetékes ivóvíz nélkül van, több megközelíthetetlen.
Az NHC prognózisa alapján a Milton vasárnap éjjel halad át a Mexikói-öböl délnyugati részén, majd folytatja útján északkeleti irányban, és várhatóan a hét közepén éri el Floridát. Már vasárnapra és hétfőre is jelentős csapadékot jósolnak, szerdára érkezhet még több eső és heves szél. Az Egyesült Államok délkeleti államaiban kedden folytatódott a Helene hurrikán és az árvizek utáni kármentesítés, miközben a halálos áldozatok száma tovább növekedett.
A keddi összesítés szerint már 133 halálos áldozatot találtak meg a romok között. A legnagyobb mentési munka Észak-Karolina állam nyugati hegyvidéki részén zajlik, részben Asheville városában és környékén, amelyet szinte teljesen elmosott az árvíz a hétvégén – számolt be a hirtv.hu.
A település változatlanul nehezen közelíthető meg, miután az utakat is elvitte az áradat.
Az Asheville-t is magában foglaló Buncombe megyében már 40 ember halálát erősítették meg, és többeket továbbra sem találnak. A térségben volt olyan áldozat, aki az áradás miatt autójában vagy otthonában rekedt és megfulladt, vagy kidőlő fa sújtott halálra. Egy, az áradás elől lakóház tetejére menekült édesanya és gyermeke a légimentőkre várva vesztette életét, miután az otthonuk részben összeomlott.

Az összesítések szerint a térségben alig négy nap alatt 600 millimétert meghaladó eső hullott, ami gyorsan zúdult le a hegyek lábánál és völgyekben fekvő településekre.
Az Egyesült Államok floridai partvidékét múlt csütörtökön elérő Helene hurrikán legkevesebb hat államban okozott komoly károkat, így Florida, Georgia, Dél- és Észak-Karolina, Tennessee és Virginia szövetségi államokban.
A keddi összesítés szerint még mintegy 1,6 millió háztartás és vállalkozás nem jut elektromos áramhoz. Az árvíz nyomán leginkább érintett térségben az ivóvíz és az élelmiszer hiánya, valamint a mobiltelefon-kapcsolat akadozása okozza a legnagyobb problémát, a hivatásos és önkéntes segélymunkások számára.
A kormányzat kedden közölte, hogy Joe Biden elnök szerdán ellátogat Észak-Karolina államba, hogy megszemlélje a pusztítás mértékét. Az elnök a hétvégén rendeletben hirdetett katasztrófahelyzetet több államra, ami megkönnyíti a szövetségi források igénybe vételét.
Az elnököt hétfőn több kritika érte republikánus politikusok és Donald Trump volt elnök részéről, amiért a katasztrófa idején hétvégére Delaware állambeli tengerparti házában maradt.

Az Egyesült Államok a Mexikói-öbölben a nyersolajtermelés mintegy 29, a földgázénak pedig a 17 százalékát állította le Helene hurrikán miatt – közölte szerdán a környezetvédelmi hivatal. Ez napi 511 ezer hordó olaj és közel 313 millió köbméter földgáz kitermelésének a kiesését jelenti.
A hurrikán közép-európai idő szerint szerda este a floridai Tampától mintegy 775 kilométerre dél-délnyugatra helyezkedett el, a maximálisan fenntartható szél sebessége 130 kilométer volt óránként az amerikai Nemzeti Hurrikánközpont jelentése szerint.
Szerdáig 17 olaj- és gázkitermelő platformot evakuáltak, ami a Mexikói-öbölben található összes olaj- és gázkitermelő platform mintegy 4,6 százaléka.
Többek között a Chevron is közölte, hogy leállítja a termelést az általa üzemeltetett mexikói-öbölbeli létesítményekben, és evakuálja a személyzetet.
A norvég olajtermelő Equinor szintén közölte, hogy kedd reggel óta leállította a műveleteket, és evakuálta a személyzetet a Mexikói-öbölben lévő Titan platformjáról.
Az Egyesült Államok hazai olajtermelésének mintegy 15, a földgázénak pedig a 2 százaléka származik a Mexikói-öbölből.
Életveszélyes vihar lesz
A BBC tudósítása szerint a Helene várhatóan veszélyes, 3-as kategóriájú viharrá erősödik, amikor helyi idő szerint csütörtökön lecsap az amerikai partokra. Életveszélyes vihardagályok, áradások és széllökések várhatók Florida jelentős és az ország délkeleti részén.

Pennsylvania és New York államban az esőzések nyomán több folyó megáradt, házakat öntött el, és pénteken több helyen a lakosságot is ki kellett telepíteni.
New York állam Pennsylvaniával szomszédos Steuben megyéjében többen rekedtek házakban, amelyeket körbekerített egy megáradt folyó. Az áradások egy része villámárvízként jelentkezett, ami rendkívül kevés időt adott a felkészülésre.
Pennsylvania állam Tioga megyéjében helikopteres mentőket riasztottak a bajba került emberek megsegítésére.
A viharos időjárás a teljes keleti partvidéket érintette, csütörtökön a főváros, Washington környékén is tornádóriasztást adtak ki, valamint áradások veszélyére is felhívták a lakosság figyelmét. A Maryland állambeli Annapolis belvárosát is részben elöntötte a gyorsan érkező áradás.
Észak- és Dél-Karolina államban a hét közepén okozta a legsúlyosabb károkat a vihar, és volt olyan település, a Charleston közelében fekvő Monks Corner, amelyen csaknem egy méter magasságú árvíz haladt keresztül.
A déli Georgia államban az esőzések következtében nyolc helyen szakadtak át folyami gátak, amelyek nyomán többeknek el kellett hagyniuk otthonukat, hogy menedékszállásokon várják ki az ár levonulását.
A Debby hurrikánhoz és trópusi viharhoz kapcsolódóan összesen legkevesebb nyolcan haltak meg az érintett területeken. Egy 78 éves asszony akkor vesztette életét, amikor könnyűszerkezetes mobilházát egy kidőlő fa szinte kettévágta Észak-Karolinában.

Venezuelában háromra emelkedett a halálos áldozatok száma. Legalább három további áldozat vesztette életét Grenadán, amelyet hétfőn ért el a vihar. Egy ember a Saint Vincent és a Grenadine-szigeteken vesztette életét a rendkívül heves időjárás miatt. Barbados fővárosában, Bridgetownban otthonokat és üzleteket öntött el a víz, és halászhajók rongálódtak meg. A Franciaországhoz tartozó Martinique szigetén pedig az EDF áramszolgáltató szerint utcákat öntött el a víz, és mintegy tízezer fogyasztó maradt áram nélkül. A Dominikai Köztársaságban hatalmas hullámok zúdultak a főváros, Santo Domingo partjaira – jelentették az AFP francia hírügynökség helyi munkatársai.
