Legkevesebb 16 gyanúsítottat vett őrizetbe Tanzánia kábítószeres bűnözés elleni hatósága (DCEA) egy 953 hektáros kannabiszültetvénnyel kapcsolatban.
A kelet-afrikai ország hatóságainak vasárnapi közlése szerint a gyanúsítottakat nyolcnapos művelet során fogták el Arusha régióban. A Meru szunnyadó vulkán lábánál végrehajtott bevetésen a rendőrség közreműködésével 953 hektáron számoltak fel kannabiszültetvényt.
Aretas Lyimo, a DCEA főkapitánya hangsúlyozta, hogy a kannabisztermelés burjánzik az ország egyes térségeiben, s a mostani művelet célja éppen az volt, hogy ennek tartós jelleggel gátat szabjanak.
A kannabisz birtoklását és használatát egy 2015-ben hozott törvény tiltja a kelet-afrikai országban.

Hónapokon át tartó nyomozás után egy legalább négyezer tőből álló kannabisz-ültetvényre találtak rá a rendőrök az Olümposzon – jelentette az ERT görög állami televízió a rendőrségre hivatkozva pénteken.
A Görögország legmagasabb hegyének oldalán elterülő ültetvény ügyében két embert őrizetbe vettek.
Rövid időn belül ez a második eredményes nyomozásuk a kannabisz után kutató görög rendőröknek: szerdán Görögország középkeleti részén, Vólosz kikötővárosához közel találtak rá egy 2400 tőből álló ültetvényre.
A rendőrség a felszámolt ültetvénynek – csakúgy, mint az olümposzinak – 14 és 20 millió euró (5,6-8 milliárd forint) közé teszi az értékét.
Görögország mellett Albánia Európa legnagyobb marihuánatermelője: a kannabisznak sok vízre van szüksége, és mindkét ország bőségesen rendelkezik olyan területekkel, amelyeket könnyedén lehet öntözni.
A hegyek oldalában például azért terem meg könnyebben a növény, mert a hegyoldalakon számos forrás csörgedezik, amelyek természetes vízzel látják el az ültetvényeket.

A brit rendőrség egy egészen hatalmas marihuána-ültetvényre bukkant a főváros centrumában található Bank of England épületének közvetlen szomszédságában.
A londoni rendőrkapitányság szóvivője szerint a január 14-én megtartott akció keretein belül összesen 826 darab B-kategóriába sorolt, illegálisan termesztett növényt foglaltak le – számolt be róla az Evening Standard.
Az egyenruhások először akkor kezdtek el gyanakodni, amikor a környékbeliek furcsa, a Throgmorton Street utca felől érezhető szagokra panaszkodtak, amit először nem tudtak mire vélni, egyesek a csatornafedél alól szivárgó bűzzel tévesztették össze az aromát.
A rövid utca az ikonikus Bank of England épületének északkeleti sarkától egészen a londoni városi bíróságig húzódik.
A rendőrség közleményében arról írnak, hogy a kannabisztöveket megsemmisítették, a termesztéshez szolgáló eszközöket szétszerelték, a helyiséget bezárták, az elkövetőket pedig őrizetbe vették.
“Szerdán, január 13-án figyeltünk fel először az erős, marihuánára emlékeztető szagokra, így megkaptuk az elfogató parancsot a bíróságtól, az akciót végül január 14-én hajtottuk végre.”
A nyomozás vezetője, Andy Spooner felügyelő hozzátette, ez volt az első kannabiszfarm, amit a város központjában az elmúlt évtizedek során valaha is felfedeztek, elmondása szerint a tettesek a koronavírus-járvány miatti lezárásokat használhatták ki az illegális tevékenység folytatásához.

Társasházban berendezett kannabiszültetvényt fedeztek fel szombaton a nyugat-németországi Wuppertalban, az ügyben hat gyanúsítottat vettek őrizetbe – közölte a német rendőrség.
A hatóságok több mint 600 kannabisz-növényt foglaltak le. A szakszerűen kialakított létesítmény négy emeletre és több lakásra terjedt ki elektromos hálózattal, szellőztetőrendszerrel, lámpákkal és a termesztéshez szükséges egyéb felszerelésekkel.
A rendőrség szerint lakossági bejelentés útján sikerült az ültetvény nyomára bukkanniuk.
A 24 és 32 év közötti gyanúsítottak nem tanúsítottak ellenállást őrizetbe vételkor. A rendőrség szerint a nagy mennyiségben lefoglalt drog miatt hosszú börtönbüntetésre számíthatnak.
