Életét vesztette egy Odessza megyei nő január 15-én a Kárpátokban, a Hoverla megmászása közben. A hölgy balesetet szenvedett két társával, akiket különböző sérülésekkel szállítottak kórházba. A turisták az információk szerint Juzsne városból érkeztek.
Az információk szerint egy 1987-es születésű férfi és egy 1989-es születésű nő sérült meg, a halálos áldozat 57 éves volt. Az esettel kapcsolatban még nem tettek közzé hivatalos részleteket, azonban a TSZN tévécsatorna értesülései szerint a mentőosztag munkatársai próbálták elérni a turistákat és óva intették őket a hegymászástól, azok azonban figyelmen kívül hagyták a figyelmeztetést.
A Hoverlára vezető útszakaszt jég borította, mindezek ellenére a három turista késznek érezte magát a mászásra. Nem jutottak fel a csúcsra, amikor elkezdtek lefelé ereszkedni megcsúsztak, s az erős szél elsodorta őket. Az 57 éves áldozat halálos fejsérülést szerzett, s azonnal életét vesztette.
A Rendkívüli Helyzetek Állami Szolgálata (DSZNSZ) arra kér mindenkit, hogy a hasonló tragédiák elkerülése érdekében hallgassanak a mentőosztag figyelmeztetéseire.
